The best places to get your photo's printed

Ranked #2,467 in Education, #59,284 overall

After three years of research, I have figured out where the best places are to get photo's printed.   I have had a lot of questions concerning this problem.  Sometimes, its hard to find the best place.

In this lens, I will review for you all of the places I have purchase prints and tell you my thoughts and feelings on the service and products I received.  I hope you enjoy and learn from my experiences.

Mpix

Still the best

Mpix is my favorite online photo printing place. I have been stuck on mpix for about a year. Just recently they had a problem with there site and you couldn't get on it. That is when I really realized how much I loved mpix.

They have great prints. The quality is wonderful. They really do look professionally printed. Especially in the matte finish. (always a great idea) They ship there products right away and even though I usually have my prints shipped regular US mail I almost alway get my photos within two days of ordering them.

The way they package there product is wonderful also. They put them in a hard box so that it is impossible to get prints that have been bent. I'd give mpix 10 stars if I could.

They do have one little flaw. It is only that there products are a little pricey compared to the others. But in my opinion the few extra pennies are totally worth what you get. That means a lot coming from me. LOL!!

Dotphoto

I originally got pictures printed at dotphoto just because they where the cheapest. The photo's I received were okay. They were better then going to Wal-mart but not exactly professional looking. If you are looking for a few snap shots for a lower price you should really go to dotphoto.

Wal-Mart's photo center.

I go to Wal-Mart when I need my pictures right away. That is the only thing they really provide for you. You can either order your pictures online and pick them up within the hour, or take them to the store and get them in an hour.

The problem with Wal-Mart is first you have to deal with the horrible customer service. I don't think I have had a good experience yet with the customer service at Wal-mart photo center. Second, The prices at Wal-Mart are crazy high. The prices are the highest you can find besides maybe Walgreens. Third, You almost have to beg them to do the Matte finish. I always want my pictures on matte finished paper because it makes the pictures look so much more professional. Not only professional but if you have a flaw in the picture the Matte finish will help calm it down. Sometimes, Wal-mart has it but most of the time they don't. The most important one of all is the quality of the photo is really bad. The colors aren't as vibrant as some of the other places the paper isn't as good.

Please keep in mind this is my opinion. I just don't like getting my photos at Wal-Mart.

I've been told that if you have a Sam's Club Card it is cheaper. I would not know if this is true or not. I do not have one. I live in BFE and the closest Sam's Club is an hour and a half away. If takes more gas and the money to get the membership and It's just not worth it for me. But if you do and and have an opinion for me let me know.

Sony's Image Station

I just recently order pictures from Sony's Image Station because Mpix's site was down. I'm just going to tell you what happened.

I got on the site and it was pretty easy to use but I downloaded there uploader to put my pictures on there site. It didn't work so I had to upload 67 pictures one at a time. It took forever. I finally got all of my pictures uploaded and ordered. When I recieved the pictures two weeks later. Yes, two Weeks later. They were packaged so horribly they were bent and wrinkled. To let you know how upset I was, these pictures were for a customer. The customer needed them immediately because they were for graduation.

So, When the pictures didn't come when they were suppose too. I had to go to Wal-Mart and get some of them printed for my customer. As you already know I don't like Wal-Mart but they are fast. So, I had to spend double on the prints and then recieved bent ones in the mail.

When I order the prints I had also ordered a photo album for the same customer. Thank God my customer didn't need that right away. When it was finally shipped there was a flaw on the second page. It looked like a printing error. They still have not replaced the album for me. To get it replaced I have to take pictures of the album and email them and like ten other things.

Just to let you know what happened after that. I never did get a new photo album. I spent the time to take the pictures, e-mail them, then waited. Finally, I e-mailed again. Then, I called. No return was ever made. My customer excepted the album I had and I gave it to them for free. So I ended up loosing money in the prosess. I am still upset to this day. That happened a year ago.

I will never get my pictures ordered here again!!!!

This was my experience with Sony's Image Station. Obviously I'm not happy with them. But this is just my experience you might have a good one. I guess you never know.

A few links for you.

Walgreen is also great for pictures in a hurry. That's about all I'd give them but their pictures are slightly better then Wal-Mart. They will not do Matte print at all though.
