Photoshop Beginner Tutorial - Gingham Texture
You need to have basic knowledge about Photoshop to follow this tutorial.
This is a beginner tutorial and it will be very easy for you to get a nice result.
I'm using the german version of Photoshop, but I hope you can follow the tutorial without problems.

Step 01

Step 02
Make a mask with the size 20 x 400 pixel and fill it with a color of your choice

Step 03
Duplicate the layer with the colored stripe.
Move the stripe 100 pixels zu the side.

Step 04

Step 05
(select all of them and click on Strg + E)

Step 08

Step 09
Merge all layers and save the file and/or add it to your Photoshop pattern.
And here you can see a few example what I did with our new texture :)

- Hi Jimmie, I don't use Gimp but I'm sure you can make such a texture with it too. All steps I did with Phoptoshop were done with very basic functions which should be include in Gimp (and all other graphic applications) too.
