My Thoughts on Photoshop
A Monthly Column
-----
Remember, remember, the month of September...first site to remember this month is www.textureking.com. Great downloadable textures at this site!
ColorJack is a great new color palette resource.

Hello August...first up, check out Ultrashock for some great Flash, Photoshop, and Illustrator tuts.
From Dave Cross, here is the portfolio of graphic artist Jason Gaylor.
Happy July! Let's see what we have for this month...well, even though I'm tooting my own horn here...this is still a great search engine. I've compiled a listing of the best Photoshop sites out there and made them searchable. Looking how to create fire in Photoshop? Something else? Go to Rollyo Photoshop Tutorial Search for more info.
Courtesy of Jennifer Apple at PhotoshopSupport, there's a new digg-like social bookmarking website that's just for designers. Check it out at http://pixelgroovy.com. I've added the site's feed to this page.
Adobe Lightroom for Windows has just come out (previously there was only a Mac version available). This pro photography software (currently in beta) will help you easily organize photos and apply special effects to them. Check Lightroom out!

Hello and happy June! First up this month...I'm sure many of you know about this site, but I would be remiss if I didn't post it for those who don't. It's http://www.lipsum.com Ever worked on a project where you didn't have copy or body text yet from the client, but you want to see how text would look in your layout? This free tool generates a user-specified amount of random text that you can use in your project! Check it out.

- Designorati
- Beautifully designed site by Pariah S. Burke and others. You can find articles and how-to's on the creative culture, Photoshop, graphic design, and much more.

- This is a very good Photoshop resource - it has a large amount of tutorials for you to explore.
- Scott Kelby's The Photoshop Insider
- Scott Kelby (the leader of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals) - this is his influential blog, chock full of his observations and exclusive tips.

- This isn't really a tutorials site per se - but it is a source of inspiration. Here, you can participate in (or watch) Photoshop contests. You might well come away amazed.
- The Ultimate Photoshop Quiz
- The Ultimate Photoshop Quiz is provided for free by NAPP. See how much you really know about Photoshop!
- Aquent
- Aquent is a "talent agency" that deals with - among others - creative professionals. You can post your resume here, search for job openings, and more!

- Dave Cross's blog
- NAPP guru Dave Cross shares his thoughts and tips on his blog.
- FrenchStudio.net
- Here are some interesting QuickTime tutorials on such subjects as creating scotch tape in Photoshop, glass reflections, and desaturation effects. The site is in English, but the tutorials themselves are in French. However, it's still pretty easy to see what's going on.
