Photo to Cross Stitch - Easy,Quick and CHEAP!
My ultimate goal was to learn how to convert our own photos into a cross stitch chart. As you know, there are hundreds of cross stitch softwares out there.
Cross stitiching is one of my favourite hobbies. I got into it while watching my grandmother creating beautiful masterpieces.
I used to spend a lot of time looking for cross stitch patterns on the internet and have "invested" a lot of money into cross stitch books, magazines and kits.
However, it's not so easy...
First of all, I am.. (how to put it gently)..not very techy. Then just when you do manage to create a pattern, the colours then have to be matched to floss colours. Then you spend ages in the embroidery shop...
These guys figured out how to automate this process and make it extremely easy on us!
Also, the patterns with less than 1000 stitches can be downloaded for free HERE!
1. Upload an image file from your computer to their website, or select a picture from free samples gallery.
2. Play around with your image until you get what you want
3. Press the "Generate chart" button to let the tool generate the stitch chart for you which you can download for around 7 dolalrs (5 euros).

Use a pillowcase to store small pieces in between stitching sessions to keep them clean :)

- I, too, love to cross stitch. (see my lens :) I own the photo conversion software and have made several for family and friends. They are always so amazed at how they turn out.

- This is a really neat idea. One I've heard of, but didn't know a website existed for an quick/easy pattern. And I think the price is reasonable too.
