I guess you could say this is a phpFoX Review.
I created this Lens a long, long, time ago because I was a very happy customer, user and an active, walking, promotion. Things have changed...
I used to promote the company so much that I probably lost a lot of money by NOT joining their affiliate program earlier. I was accused of being an Affiliate of phpFoX way before I actually promoted them. I was accused of being the owner of the company by several people. I was just a die-hard fan.
Until now...
The Company has gone a little downhill as far as Support goes. Now, because I speak my mind too much, I don't even get Commissions although I still have people tell me they've purchased through my link.
This has definitely "bugged" me as of late.
But there's some good people that work for them... unfortunately not enough, though.
So this has been edited with me telling you that if you want a GOOD product - you'll either have to deal with slow support responses, a questionable script or see another company.
www.BuyAbleSpace.com is a pretty good script. Support is a little slow but at least the script runs right and the company doesn't seem to be very shady ;-)
Honestly, they seem to be very honest and respectful. The script is just INSANELY FULL of AJAX options and other nice options that end-users absolutely LOVE.
If you really want to knock the socks off of your members - this script is the one to check out first.
Downfall? It's about twice as expensive as phpFoX.
Of course... if you're still interested in checking out phpFoX - be my guest.
I truly hope they change their ways back to how they were prior to the past 6 months... they were an excellent company who just...dropped the ball. It's like the owner walked off to take a longggggg vacation and decided to not come back? I don't know what really happened, I really don't.
The script is great for the price but the flaws it does have can kill a business when the Support is so slow.

phpFoX has made some changes to phpFoX Konsort 1.6 RC2
With this build we have fixed various bugs since our last release, these fixes include:* #000713: Hot Tags not support cyrilic
* #000717: Minor correction
* #000718: The word "Untitled" is hardcoded in a few templates
* #000720: invitation to private event does not work
* #000724: The word "invite" is hardcoded

phpFoX 1.6 RC 2 Released with new vB plugin
vBulletin Plugin for phpFoX Released
From the phpFoX Staff:I wanted to take a moment to announce that we have updated our vBulletin plug-in. We currently don't have forums for v1.6 so I decided to release this announcement here for the time being. Forums for v1.6 will be setup once the stable release is out and about.
As for the vBulletin plug-in there have been several improvements in how the plug-in functions. With our past versions of this plug-in it required clients to modify their vBulletin source code. Which isn't a hassle the first time around, however it can be a hassle once you need to upgrade your vBulletin and then figure out what files to modify again. With this update we have integrated phpFoX using vBulletins hook system which stores all plug-in related calls in their database. In return this should help you not worry when it comes time to upgrade in the future.
Part of the hook system is during the install of this plug-in it will automatically update your vBulletin templates to look and feel like the default phpFoX template. Giving your users the illusion that your sites are in no way separated.
One major inconvenience in the past was how the main menus on the vBulletin side would not match up with the phpFoX templates unless you hard coded parts of the plug-in files. With this new plug-in all the menus (top, main & bottom) are connected to the phpFoX menu class which displays all the current links you have on your phpFoX site. So you won't have to worry if you add a new menu in the phpFoX Admin CP or if you were to translate your site into another language.
With the improvements there have also been several bug fixes for this plug-in which include:

* #000196: Vbulletin: Threads do not display in Archive

This is currently the first official release for this plug-in for the version 1.6 release so this plug-in is still considered beta. There is currently no support for this plug-in, however if you run into any problems please take the time to post it in our official issue tracker: http://tracker.phpfox.com/
Stable release for this plug-in will be released with the stable release of Konsort v1.6, if not sooner.

As I mentioned earlier we don't have a special forum for v1.6 just yet, and I cannot add this to our official plug-in area as it is still a beta plug-in; I have attached the plug-in with this thread instead. Once you download it, just unzip the package and you will find a Read me file which will guide you on how to install/upgrade this plug-in.

phpFoX 1.6 about to be released
phpFoX 1.6 is supposed to be released this week!
I must admit, the new release looks promising as the bugs have been fixed quickly and there seems to be little problems with the testing site they've put up.
This release has integrated Music and Video modules, as well as other new features.
