Welcome to Phuket
Phuket attracts something like five million visitors a year, making it Thailand's most popular island. There are beautiful Phuket beaches, lively nightlife and some great places to explore.
People are attracted to Phuket beaches for a variety of reasons, but there's no doubt that Phuket is big enough for everyone to find something worth exploring.
Phuket is one of the most popular destinations that tourists in Thailand visit. The island is larger than nearby destinations, such as Koh Samui and Koh Pha-ngan, and it has a better vibe than of Thailand's other island destinations.

Checking out Phuket beaches
The Phuket beaches range from the sublime to the mediocre. The most popular Phuket beach is, of course, Patong Beach. Patong Beach is the kind of beach that you'll either love or you'll hate. The beach itself is pretty dirty and overcrowded, but let's face it: nobody goes to Patong for the scenery.
Higher up the pecking order are beaches such as Nai Yang Beach and Kata Beach. These beaches are cleaner and have a lot more going for them than Patong.
Perhaps the most beautiful of all Phuket beaches is Mai Khao Beach, an enormous, unspoiled stretch of sand that looks like a tropical paradise.
Not all of the Phuket beaches are well known. The best ones are often the beaches that the tourists seem to ignore. Take Laem Singh Beach as a prime example. The locals and expats know about it all too well, but most visitors to Phuket seem contended to stay at nearby Phuket Beach instead.
Whichever Phuket beach you decide to visit, you'll certainly remember it for the rest of your life.
