Part of the physical immortality mind-set is that we actually have a choice about whether we live or die - we are not helpless victims of aging, illness, accidents and any other causes of death one can think of.

Let's stay together - stay with our loved ones. What if death, and the separation brought by it, was totally out of sync with God's plan (if you think in terms of God)?
Maybe "God's plan" is that we are meant to be exploring the physical realms, in our bodies, and with our loved ones. Maybe people have been dying all this time because they unconsciously tuned into a belief that they were supposed to, and because they have thought dying gives them an opportunity to escape from themselves (it's SO much easier than changing!)
Here's a quote from the book 'The Door of Everything' (a channelled book, written by the creative source) -

Although death may, on rare occasions, be painless and easy for its victims, it is never painless and easy for the loved ones left behind. This is because I created all my children to be together in love, together in Spirit, not separated by unknown universal vastness. Well David - the immortalists I know are are very much into expecting ALL people will become immortal - it's about togetherness you know, and not being separated by death. I think you are right in that people whose consciousness has evolved enough for them to be leading a fairly stress-free life (we create our own pampering, you know) are the ones who might consider physical immortality.
You must not like humans very much if you describe their flesh as "cancer" And there is a whole universe out there to fill up - plenty of room, I would say.
Renewal? I think death prevents it, as people use it unconsciously as an escape hatch. How about the renewal of finding connection in love with other people, and the renewal of trying out fresh perspectives?

Hi Margo - great to hear from you, Margo. I love your lens about elderly people taking up new interests! On the immortality question you raised, the idea is that an immortal person doesn't have accidents, because by following their inner guidance, they will somehow avoid them.

That is a great quote. The problem, however is that is we could live in this body forever, we wouldn't do anything. There would still be the problem of accidents, for instance, If I could live forever, I wouldn't have gone to Europe because the plane might have crashed and if accidents were the only way I could die, then I would be less likely to do things where there could be an accident!
