A Tribute to an accordion player
A Piano Accordion brings lots of memories to me. Here I will share some of them with you.
This is about one specific player. He started to play the accordion when he was 9 years old. He could hardly carry it to the lessons. After years of playing at partys and dances he became very skilled and remembered lots of music by heart. Sometimes I think the memory acually was in his hands as much as in the head. I loved to hear him boogie away. Always in a good mood and happy.
Another thing I admired about him was that he never gave up when he was practicing. Over and over again he played until he knew the music. What a musician!!
His life was filled with music from morning to evening. Much of it from a piano accordion. He had many but my favourite was a Van Damme Jazz accordion with a very deep and clear sound. You could acually sit very close and still be able to talk to a person.
Do you know how to recognize an accordion player? He has the wrist watch on his right hand! The bellow strap is tight on the left :-)

He played in his home, in restaurants, at dancings, in cafe´s, on the street of Stockholm and of course at different accordion festivals in Sweden. He played for his own happiness and doing so he made others happy! Here are just a few photos from different occations.

Ransäters Accordion Festival

This Accordion Festival in the beginning of July each year is probably the biggest in the world. There are thousands of tents and trailors with muscicians of all kinds. You just have to see this to believe it. I will post some links down here.
