Designed specifically for older adults, this guide provides the tools for managing, editing, and displaying digital photo collections using the free Picasa software. Screen illustrations and step-by-step instructions demonstrate the variety of options available such as enhancing colors, deleting "red eyes," cropping images, printing photos, creating slideshows, and sharing a photo album on the Internet. Securing a digital photo collection is critical, and this manual shows the simple way that Picasa burns backup image files to a CD or DVD. Some Picasa options require a high-speed internet connection, though the software will run the same way whether using a Windows Vista, Windows XP, or Windows 7 operating system.

My husband likes using Picasa, but I haven't really got the hang of how to use it yet, so the information in this lens was very helpful.

I've never used Picasa, but from reading your lens and watching a couple of the videos, I think it's great. I will look at using it. One thing I did see it creating borders, but I'm sure it can be done. I like the collage feature in it. Thanks for this great lens...nice personal video, by the way! :)

I love Picasa! My son introduced me to it about 8 months ago after I purchased a new laptop and my old photo editing software would not "play" with Windows 7. I actually like it better than any other photo software that I have ever used. The only negative that I have found, is that you can not enlarge a photo. I do that with Microsoft Office Picture Manager now, so I have what I consider to be the perfect, easiest setup.

    Well...there is a way.

Use the collage/picture pile tool to make a one picture collage. You can enlarge your chosen pic up to the size of the collage.

You need to understand that you are not increasing the resolution of your photo by increasing it beyond its native size (same with picture manager, btw).
