Pizza Capital of the World?
Pictou County has more pizza shops per capita than anywhere in North America. Is that what I heard? Was that really a question on Jeopardy? I don't know for sure, but lots of people are making it and lots of people are eating it. People live on it and people are dieing from it. They eat it three times a day. They eat it for a bed time snack. Pictou County pizza has even been eaten in Calgary and BC, in the US and even in Afghanistan. Only in Pictou County you say?...Pity.

What Makes Pictou County Pizza Different?
As with all pizza the secret is the blending of flavours that makes it taste so good. But a Pictou County pizza has a few important differences. The "secret" sauce is a family recipe that is more than 35 years old. One of the more popular ingredients is Brothers Pepperoni which made in Halifax and is a world class award winner. The rest of the secret is basically decades of pizza making experience.
So if you happen to be visiting Pictou County be sure to try the pizza. It's the breakfast of champions, brunch, dinner, supper and bed time snack. Any time you're feeling a little empty or you have the munchies then grab a slab. That's what we do everyday.

- I don't know "Guys"!!! The Chicago styled pizza down here in the Chicago area is pretty blessed good stuff!!! Besides, you ?guys? are so far far far away in the Maritimes that it would take a month of Sundays to get there. The Pizza would be cold by then.!!! Ha! Ha! Ha!
The closest I ever made it was just northeast of Quebec City at Saint Anne de Beaupré and its Cathedral back in 1967 after stopping in to Expo 67 in Montreal.
It was hard getting around Quebec Province back then if you did not speak French due to the French Secessionist Movement as some of you may recall! Even so some of us spoke French but we then went south through Maine on our vacation!
Never heard anything about Pictou County Pizza back then but did hear about the ?de Gaulle Fink Sundae? Special that one of the ice cream stands somewhere between Montreal and Quebec City was offering on their marquee in response to the Secessionists!
Maybe someone can open a Pictou County Pizza Shop around Chicago and let us know about it so we can give it the official "Chicago" taste test! Worse comes to worse maybe you can email me a slice er something!!! Ha! Ha! Ha !. smail@dr.com

- I wish I had the recipe so I could make it for myself and friends down here in Nashville, TN now that I am living here. once or twice a year when I get to travel home is clearly not enough!!!

- Was home from the west coast and ate Alice's everyday. I have not had it for almost 5 days now and I got the DT's. Wish someone would open a Pictou County pizzeria in southern Alberta. mmmmmmmmmouth water. If there was ever a reason to move back home it would be for Alice. <3 <3
