Spooky, scary and sometimes hairy. Check out these ghost pictures.

Ghosts Caught on Film
Ghosts Caught on Film presents an extraordinary collection of strange and unexplained photographs that offer the exciting possibility of ghosts and paranormal activity captured on film. The book features early photographs from the Society for Psychical Research of psychics and mediums producing ectoplasm, ghost pictures and other paranormal phenomena as well as celebrated modern images such as the Hampton Court ghost.
Each picture is accompanied by a description of its circumstances and the steps taken by Willin, the Society for Psychical Research and the Royal Photographic Society to establish that there is no "normal" explanation for the phenomena. The incredible photographs will stimulate the interest of everyone who sees them.
Whether you are a complete sceptic or a semi-believer, you can't help but be drawn into the mystery.

Video Clips Of Ghosts And Those Chasing Them
Real Life Ghostbusters?
What the heck was that? Ghost runs through the frame
Watch the background, not the cute little girl. It looks like something runs through. This one is kinda creepy.
Unfortunately, the guy who submitted this clip to YouTube won't allow it to be embedded. But the module does pull up alternate ghostly clips to watch and one of them... is this one!
Just click play, and when it says "sorry, yada, yada" just click on the alternate clips. This one will appear in the 2nd group. It really is a cool clip.
Girl In The Window

The Picture was taken of a home in Ravenna, Ohio. It was taken by the owners' 14-year-old son, May 2008. It shows what looks like a young girl in human form looking out the window. She appears to be wearing a blue outfit. The owner of the house and her son were the only ones home at the time and there are no younger children in the family. They have no idea why a young girl would show up in the window of the house. The house has been reported to have had a history of supernatural activity but never to the point of seeing an apparition, at least until this point. The house was built in the early 1930s.
An Old Woman At The Cemetery
The Wilhoit Ghost

This picture has been passed around a couple of years ago, the scene is a Wilhoit cemetery in Ohio. The participants were dedicating a grave site with a new marker, and re-enactors were present. A couple of the re-enactors posed for a memory shot and got more than they bargained for.
The building had no-one in it, and through the open window on the left is a fairly clear image of what is clearly a ghost-like woman sitting and watching. The image in the window has been cropped and enhanced, but with no further alterations, (adjusting contrast). Interesting image to say the least. They call her the Wilhoit Ghost.
Scary Woman At The Camp

This picture was taken at a camp these friends were staying at one summer. As they were going through all the camp photos, they found something very unusual about this one. I clearly see the image of a spooky girl in the background. She appears to be holding something in her hands. I see her entire body. They say that there were no women at camp and especially none that looked like this! I guess this could be an illusion, but what of? Maybe you have an answer for this.
The Prison-Coffin Ghost
The man in the casket is alive...but look what's next to his head!

This photograph was taken in an old Irish prison called the Crumlin Road Prison. The prison was built around 1843 or 1845. There were 17 prisoners executed there, the last being hanged in 1961. Fifteen of the 17 men who were hanged, were buried in unmarked graves in unconsecrated ground around the prison walls.
Several prison staff have also been killed there by prisoners and there has also been suicides. The man in the photograph was with a group of painters who were doing some renovation work. He climbed into an empty coffin for a joke and his friends took photographs of him on their mobile phones.
The photograph was taken in the execution cell 13 which was the cell where prisoners would spend their last night before being led to the hanging gallows to be killed. If you look to the left of the mans face you can clearly see a ghostly face!
Many other sightings have been reported in this prison. There have been many terrible things that have happened in the prison. Many people feel a sudden coolness come over them when they enter the execution room and many have even heard cries.
The Brown Lady: aka Lady Dorothy Townsend of Raynham Hall

This ghost photo is known as The Brown Lady and is probably the most famous ghost picture ever taken.
The story goes is that the woman in the ghost picture is the ghost of Lady Dorothy Townsend who lived in Raynham Hall Mansion in Norfolk, England in the 1700's. It is said that Lady Townsend's husband, Charles Townsend, suspected his wife of being unfaithful and even though she is listed as having been buried in 1725 many people think that her death and funeral were faked.
Instead, Lady Townsend was said to have been locked away in a remote part of the house until she passed away some years later. Ever since then she is thought to be haunting Raynham Hall.
This particular ghost picture was taken in 1936 and appeared in Country Life magazine.
Ghost At The Stairs

England is one of the best countries for finding ghosts and here is one of the earliest ghost pictures.
After all, with as much history that England has there is bound to be a ghost or two hanging around. This ghost picture was taken in Greenwich, England in the Queen's House portion of the National Maritime Museum. Many royals were born and spent time in this house so there would have been a lot of people moving around the house when it was in active service.
This ghost picture was taken in 1966 by Rev. Ralph Hardy, a clergyman from Canada. The ghost is holding onto the railing of the staircase that is known as the Tulip Staircase.
Ghost Looks On As Picture Taken

Another particularly creepy ghost picture. This picture was taken in the 60's when a family had bought a new car.
When they were showing it off for the camera the face of a man showed up in the back window of the other car in the driveway. There was nobody in either car at the time so it was a real shock for them to find they had taken a ghost picture.
What made it even more of a shock was that the face looked very much like the dead father of the man posing for the picture. The same man that had taught him how to drive years before.
Tudor Ghost Caught On Security Camera At Hampton Court
"Who keeps leaving this door open?"

This picture was first shown back in 2003 when this ghost was spotted on closed circuit security cameras at Hampton Court Palace, the huge Tudor castle outside London, England.
Security guards had seen the figure in closed-circuit television footage after checking it to see who kept leaving open one of the palace's fire doors. In the still photograph, the figure of a man in a robe-like garment is shown stepping from the shadowy doorway, one arm reaching out for the door handle.
The area around the man is somewhat blurred, and his face appears unnaturally white compared with his outstretched hand.
"It was incredibly spooky because the face just didn't look human," said James Faukes, one of the palace security guards. "My first reaction was that someone was having a laugh, so I asked my colleagues to take a look. We spoke to our costumed guides, but they don't own a costume like that worn by the figure. It is actually quite unnerving," Faukes said.
The palace, built in 1525 on the River Thames 10 miles west of central London, is a popular tourist attraction and some of the guides wear costumes of the Tudor period. Wood said she was hoping people would come forward with similar stories and try to explain the figure.
The palace has been the scene of many dramatic royal events, and already is supposed to have a few ghosts. King Henry VIII's third wife, Jane Seymour, died there giving birth to a son, and her ghost is said to walk through one of the cobbled courtyards carrying a candle.
Her son, Edward, had a nurse called Sibell Penn who was buried in the palace grounds in 1562. In 1829 her tomb was disturbed by building work, and around the same time an odd whirring noise began to be heard in the southwest wing of the palace. When workmen traced the strange sounds to a brick wall, they uncovered a small forgotten room containing an old spinning wheel, just like the one Penn used to use.
Henry's fifth wife, Catherine Howard, condemned for adultery, was held at the palace under house arrest before her execution at the Tower of London. An 1897 book about the palace says she was reportedly seen, dressed in white and floating down one of the galleries uttering unearthly shrieks.
Freddy Jackson Shows Up For The Group Photo
Problem is he died 2 days before it was taken

Freddy Jackson was a mechanic in the Royal Air Force in World War I. Freddy's squadron served onboard the H.M.S. Daedalus. Two days after Jackson was killed when an airplane propeller hit him, the squadron assembled for a group photo, and there's Freddy in the back, as he faithfully showed up for his pals and grinning behind the ear of a fellow comrade. Guess nobody bothered to tell Freddy Jackson that he was dead. His face was widely recognized in this photo by members of the squadron.
What Is That Under The Bridge?

Look at what was discovered under the bridge when a picture was taken of an accident scene in Malaysia. Something creepy peering out from the shadows. The face was not noticed until after the film had been developed.
Little Girl At The Fire

Back in November 1995, Wem Town Hall in Shropshire, England was engulfed in flames and burned to the ground.
While firefighters tried to stave off the inferno a town resident, Tony O'Rahilly, took pictures from across the street using a telephoto lens on his camera. There, rather clearly in one of the photos, is what looks very much to be a small girl standing in a doorway, with the brightness of the flames behind her. No one ever remembered there being a small girl present on scene, much less in that close a proximity to the fire.
The photo and the original negative were turned over to a photo expert who decided that the picture was 100% authentic: "The negative is a straightforward piece of black-and-white work and shows no sign of having been tampered with." Okay, so what's a girl ghost doing in such a big fire?
Well in 1677 a fire destroyed many of Wem's wooden houses. The fire was said to have been caused by a 14-year old girl named Jane Churm, who had been careless with a candle. Churm died in the fire along with several others, and her ghost is said to still haunt the area.
Whether there's such a thing as ghosts or not, it must be said: if this is just a trick, an illusion of smoke and fire that happened to be captured on film, it's a zillion-to-one coincidence that it just so happened to appear in the form of a girl who also died in a terrible fire at the same location.
I've seen a ghost!

Well, on TV and at the movies. Casper The Friendly Ghost is more my speed than some of the spooky pictures of ghosts here. He can stop by my place anytime (as long as he doesn't bring his buddies).

- I was a little skeptical about the existence of ghosts before our trip to Gettysburg, PA. We took many ghost tours and even caught a few on camera (which we did not notice until later when I enlarged them on the computer.) This is a very fascinating lens...thanx for sharing!!

- Great lens ~ I always love the stories that go with the ghostly pictures. It's just a not a good ghost picture unless there's some story to go with it, a few possibilities, and maybe a theory or three.

- I do get a kick out of these pictures. And I'm always on the lookout for more to add. Some are really cool. I've seen some where there's a form standing really close to people being photographed and they don't know til they see the photo - that always freaks me out.

- Can someone pls help me locate an old ghost photo I ran across on the internet a couple of years ago working on the graveyard-shift?It was an old black n white pic, possibly taken early 1900's or so.Its a pic of this couple standing next to the woman's dead father(I believe it was her father) with an open casket, and on the bottom left of the pic appears to be a demon looking boy, with his hand raised to his mouth or something hiding either behind the gentleman I believe.Anyways,I cant find this pic anywhere and have I got a story to tell about that night, right after I enlarged the pic on the monitor.Thx!
