Pictures of Titanic and Titanic Gifts
The great ocean liner hit an iceberg before midnight on April 14, 1912, and sank into the depths of the North Atlalntic in the early hours of April 15.
Reprints of surviving photos and artists renderings are available as art prints and posters. On this page, I've collected a selection of those available at Zazzle.
Any of these are available for purchase, as are the other Titanic gifts on this page. These will make popular gift items and prized finds for Titanic afficianados in this, the centennial anniversary of one of the great sea tragedies of all time.

The Story of the Titanic -
Does it fascinate you? (a poll)
Many people are utterly fascinated by the story of the RMS Titanic. Others simply have enjoyed the various movies made about her. Some have a passing to active interest in the great ocean liner because they are sailors, cruisers, or boaters, or simply like nautical history.
And, there are a few who've never been bothered much by anything related to the story at all, but there are precious few who don't at least know of the sinking of the Titanic, and that it was caused by the ship hitting an iceberg.

The Rich and Famous Boarded Titanic
Two of them were John Jacob Astor and The Unsinkable Molly Brown

Astor IV ~ John Jacob Capitalist Inventor by fotoshoppe
John Jacob Astor IV was probably the wealthiest of Titanic's passengers. Born into one of the wealthiest families in America, he made millions more, and built the Astoria Hotel, later to become part of the famous Waldorf-Astoria. Though his pregnat wife, along with her maid and nurse survived the sinking, John Jacob did not.
Margaret Brown, a wealthy American who, among other things, worked to help establish the first juvenile court in the US. She escaped the sinking in the now famous lifeboat number 6, which was only one of two lifeboats that went back to look for additional survivors. The others would not paddle back because the occupants feared being sucked down with the ship. It was at the firm insistance of Margaret Brown that boat No. 6 went back. Though she was never called this when she was alive, she is now known as "the Unsinkable Molly Brown," after the Broadway musical about her.

Lessons Learned from the Titanic Disaster

Lifeboats on a Cruise Ship.
Photo: my own, all rights reserved
Within the year, Titanic's older sister had improvements made, including modifications to her watertight bulkheads, and installation of additional lifeboats to bring the number to 64.
Not only do today's cruise ships have enough lifeboats to accomodate every soul on board, but the crew have regular lifeboat drills, during which the boats are actually manned and put into the water.
Sisters
Titanic had two sister ships:
