Pictures with Santa

The Absolute Best Gift for Every Mom and Grandmother!

From their very first Christmas on, until they absolutely refused (and couldn't be bribed anymore) I always took my boys for a photo with Santa.

Now that they are grown, these pictures with Santa are my most treasured Christmas decorations. In fact these are the only decorations we own that aren't packed up and banished to the attic every January. I keep my babies with Santa pictures in a special drawer in my china closet where I know they'll be safe and sound. My boy's Santa photos are always the first decoration to come out in early December and the last decorations to come down after Christmas. They are irreplaceable keepsakes of my children's lives growing up and I will cherish them forever.

Read on to learn why I treasure my pictures with Santa so much and why I think they make the greatest gift for every Mom and Grandma.

I Believe in Santa Claus!

and why these photos mean so much to me

type=textYes, I admit it. I believe in Santa. To me Santa is much more than just a character who shows up once a year bringing gifts. To me Santa represents happiness, and hope, and miracles, and wishes fulfilled. He's jolly and fun. To me Santa Claus represents joy and who doesn't believe in a little more joy in the world, even if it's just for one day?

Sure I've got plenty of other photos of my children but the few I have of them with Santa are my most treasured because when I set them out each year I see the miracle of them growing up again, right before my eyes. I see happiness on their faces (well except for the one year that my youngest was afraid of the jolly old elf and cried when I set him on Santa's lap - explained below) and most of all in that one second moment that was nabbed with a camera for all time, I can see their faces as they are hoping and dreaming of what the future might bring. Sure at the time their dreams were only of silly things like Tonka trucks and Nintendo games but the expression remains the same, a combination of hope and joy that would be almost impossible to capture at any other time.

My Biggest Santa Photo Regret

The Infamous Crying with Santa Photo

In one of my boy's photos with Santa my youngest is crying because he was frightened of the big guy. I told them to take the photo anyway because I wanted a keepsake. Am I a bad mother? I never left his side and took him from Santa the moment the photo was finished being taken. The reason I put him through this awful tragedy was because I had gone through the same thing with my oldest on his second visit to Santa and don't have a photo of him for that year. That is the only year missing from my Santa photo collection and I've always regretted it.

But now, thinking back, maybe I shouldn't have tramatized the boy for my own selfish needs. What do you think?

Would you have let them take the infamous crying with Santa photo?

Why Pictures with Santa are the GREATEST Gifts for Mom and Grandma

No matter how old you are!

type=text

If I haven't already convinced you of the importance of taking a picture with Santa every year let me give you one more really good reason to give Mom or Grandma a photo of yourself or your family with Santa this year.

A gift of a photo with Santa will never be tossed aside, returned, or complained about. It is guaranteed to bring a smile to Mom's face no matter how old either of you are and it will become a treasured keepsake.

I know the cost of pictures with Santa has gone up over the years but no matter how much they are asking, the finished product is priceless and the smile on Mom's face is worth much more than whatever it is you'll have to pay.

When my oldest was a teen, he took his brother to the mall and had this picture taken as a surprise for me one Christmas because he knows how much I love my Santa photos. They were both totally embarrassed and would probably kill me if they knew I posted it here. They survived, and so can you! And yeah, I've got great kids!

What are you waiting for? Go get your picture taken with Santa right now!

Wonderful keepsakes! I've saved all of my friends Christmas cards and many of them did the Santa thing with their kids over the years. It's so fun to look back at those times.
