Pigtail Brands flagship product, Big Ed's Heirloom Barbecue Sauce did not get its moniker of "The Specialty Of The South" for no reason. This is a robust, tangy vinegar based heirloom barbecue sauce & marinade with just the perfect hint of pepper & a slight sweet undertone produced in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina. A 30 year family recipe to perfectly accent and bring out, not overpower, the flavor of your pork, steak, poultry, seafood, wild game and everything in between. It has even been used as a salad dressing. Gluten free, fat free, cholesterol free and preservative free. It's just that good! For years this sauce has made appearances at local gatherings amongst family and friends with everyone always inquiring as to why we have yet to market the the product to the public. That time has come. The story of this delicious heirloom bbq sauce dates back to 1980 in Gifford, South Carolina. It was first produced in small, specialty batches at Big Ed's Barbecue Restaurant & Pigtail Hunt Camp deep in the heart of the South Carolina Lowcountry. The local gentlemen would gather around after days of hunting, family activities, & the like to tell stories while enjoying the delicious sauce and ice cold beverages. Good times, great friends & a savory heirloom barbecue sauce. Uses: For optimal results, baste desired meat, fish, or whatever you like with Big Ed's Heirloom Barbecue Sauce for 10-15 minutes before cooking is complete. Dip or brush once more for added flavor! Great as a marinade too! We are also very proud to be deemed a South Carolina Certified Product by the South Carolina Department Of Agriculture as well as very involved members of the South Carolina Specialty Foods Association & the Lowcountry Local Initiative. We understand the the importance of a gluten-free diet and the impact that Celiac Disease can have on someone so we have filled a void in the market to meet this demand without losing that delicious taste that we all know and love.
