Some Cool Ways to Pimp Your Van

Put Your Stamp On Your Van!

#1 Pimping your wheels are one of the most noticable ways of standing out. This doesn't have to be expensive. You can easily get hold of an old set of alloy wheels off ebay and reburbish them yourselves. All you need is a lot of elbow grease, a sander, a screw driver and

First, remove all the metal flakes from the wheels. Next start sanding and smooth off the outside of the wheel. You'll need plenty of sandpaper for this - start off with a medium 80/60 sandpaper and then the finer sand paper to finish off. Don't be shy of going down to the bare metal.

Next get some fine filler and smooth out the small pit holes and tidy up the rim. After it has hardened, you guessed it, more sanding but usse the finest paper and complete with a buff cloth!

Next, wipe down the wheel and warm the wheel up with a heat gun. Then prime the wheel with fine coats using a preparation paint spray. More primer then the bit you've been dying to get to, spray on the final coats of alloy paint. Choose from a wide range of colours from Silver to Gold.

If that sounds like too much time in the garage slaving over the emery paper, why not splash out on a new set of Rims or wheels.

#2 Pimping your Headlights - is a pretty cheap way to put some colour into your car by exchaning the lamps. Be aware that this is illegal in some countries. You can however replace your headlights with white headlight bulbs that emit white light, but ensure you get the right wattage bulb, otheriwse it may blow.

#3 Get graphical - and add a twist with some graphic design on the side of the van. A flame or something that says something about you. If you dont' fancy being that ostentatious, why not try some simple vinyl window stickers with a witty slogan.

#4 Fit an Exhaust - not just any exhaust but one that would make the A-Teams Van look shy! You can go for a double hot rod style for the aggressive look, or even a spinning exhaust for the subtleness. There are other benefits aswell - a high performance exhaust system can boost the power of your van, but over sizing could have the adverse effect, so get some advice on this before splashing out. And of course, you can always add some decibels and get noticed, but becareful not to generate too much attention from the Fuzz!

#5 Get Some Loud Speakers and a ridiculously large Amplifier - If you're a bass junky and love to blast out the tunes so they can be heard in the next town, then why not fit an all singing and dancing set of sub woofers and amplifier to your van. Unlike a car, vans have more space and doesn't result with no where to store your crates of beer and golf clubs. Also, try some tweeters for higher clarity sound and brightness for the higher frequencies. Install a DVD player or TV and even go for the whole hog with a PS3 or Nintendo Wii for those long journeys.

#6 Personalise Your Licence Plate - Get noticed with a cool plate. Look online for a new licence plate for something that is memorable - your initials, company name or use a nick name

#7 Tint Your Windows - Stop prying eyes when you're parked up somewhere and need some privacy. Also, protects the interior from the Sun and damaging rays when parked up for long periods.

What about the all important very loud mp3 sound system.
I am going to buy myself a VW California from www.buyacar.co.uk and pimp it out like a night club.

I'm thinking about getting a cool VW Campervan and cruising around the states with a fully kitted out mobile disco, not forgetting turntable wheel trims and glitzy disco lights on the roof.
