Don't get us wrong. We love Pimsleur, and think that the Pimsleur method is one of the best ways to learn a new language. Pimsleur offers countless individuals the opportunity to start speaking a new language without having to worry about spending and inordinate amount of time with textbooks and vocabulary lists.

But when it comes to Pimsleur Downloads, we have our reservations and its important to hear them out. First legal Pimsleur Downloads are available as WMA format. That is, they are accessible as Windows Media Format files and not as MP3s. MP3s provide a greater degree of flexibility "out of the box so to speak, than do Digital Rights Management encrypted WMA files. You can work on converting them, but it will take you some work.

But the biggest downside is the cost. Sure you might have some site selling each level for $120, if you buy all three comprehensive levels, but guess what? There isn't any buy back on downloads.
