DIY Pine Cone Christmas Crafts

Pine Cones Are Perfect for Adding a Natural Touch to Christmas Gifts and Decor

Pine cones are perfect for crafts and decorating. They are beautiful little works of nature, available to many of us for free. If you cannot find them in your own backyard, they are not expensive to purchase. They bring an earthy element to Christmas, which is beautiful using both traditional materials and unexpected items. My favorite is combining the rough texture of pine cones with sparkly glass glitter and satin ribbon. I think you'll have fun picking out your favorites, and once you get started there will be no end to the pine cone possibilities!

Preparing your Pine Cones

If you gather your pine cones from the great outdoors, it is advisable to bake them in the oven to rid of bugs and sap. Place them on a foil lined cookie sheet for one hour at 200 degrees.

Yes, I like to use them in crafts. I use them for potpourri. I also like to buy the scented ones at craft stores to hang up at Christmas time.
