Free Tool Allows For Mass Ping Of Your Blogs and Lenses

Got a fresh post at your blog? Have you just updated a bunch of lenses with new content? Ping your blog and lenses with this free and easy to use mass ping tool called Blog Ping.

In this blog ping tutorial, you'll learn where to get the tool, how to set it up and how to use it.

Ping Your Blogto Reach A greater Audience

but be careful not to "sping"

A weblog ping is a broadcast that dozens of services receive and either compile a list or feed a list of freshly updated blogs. The lists are displayed at feed readers for web users to browse looking for content that may interest them.

Squidoo lenses are nothing more than single post blogs, so a very powerful way to get the word out about new content in your lens is to provide a ping. Often we log into several ping services that will ping blogs and/or lenses to several rss feed readers, but the free tool Blog Ping requires no log in and the blogger can pre-load any and all ping services they typically use. Not only can services be pre-loaded, but so can blogs and lenses. This can be very handy if the lensmaster/blogger has a regular schedule of posting and updates.

Use Caution When Pinging:
Remember that you should only ping your blog or lenses when there is fresh content. Too many pings without new updates may lead to being marked as a "spammer". These types of pings are known as "spings" due to the practice by many unethical bloggers of pinging to call attention to keywords.

Do not ping more than once a day. Create a cadence. Potential readers will begin to look for your material on a regular basis, but if they come and only see content they have already read you can kiss them good bye.

In the following tutorial, you'll learn how to set-up a pre-loaded Blog Submission list. Create several that you can rotate in and out of the Blog Ping folder. Put yourself on a lens and blog update schedule, and this tool can save you tremendous amounts of time.

Happy Blogging!

Ping Blog Wizard

ooops! Pinball Wizard

When I was in High School, I was a huge Elton John fan. Actually, was the fan of most British Rockers, including the Who, so when the Who took the rock opera Tommy to the cinema and cast Elton John int the role of the soon to be former Pinball Champ, I was ecstatic.

One question though. Was the set made for the performer, or did the performer make the set?

What happens when you ping your blog?

When you ping your blog, will your blog become higher quality? Absolutely not. That is all up to the blog owner. Content is king and will always remain king. Good, quality content that provides solutions will keep readers longer and bring them them back.

The only real advantage to pinging your blog is getting the word out. Maybe only was a slight understatement.I

Blogging Is More Than Just Writing

There is a great responsibility in blogging. Most of that responsibility falls into the category of no "spamming", but I personally think that if the blogger provides useful and rich content, the "spam" naturally goes away.

Do you have any thoughts on this?
