Pink Throw Pillows

The color pink takes its meaning from the fact that its a pale shade of red, an exciting, vibrant, fierce color. Pink is a warm tone, known for being a favorite for girls, a symbol of romance, and a sweet, gentler version of the color from which it's derived.

It can be combined with a number of other colors and takes its cues from those colors as to whether or not it will appear sugary and sweet, more chic, or classic and subtle. Combine pink with whites, creams, and yellows or with other primary colors for a little girl's room or with black, grays, and rich chocolate browns for a more sophisticated combination.

I found this Google forum thread to be most interesting, however, as it explains that originally pink was the preferred color for males while blue was associated with girls. Perhaps our collective psyches could only take this for so long, assuming the genetic preferences for the opposite color, we switched the rules, and all was right with the world once again.

I am not the crafty one in the family. That would be my mom. She can cook, bake, sew, needlepoint, paint, and write. She'd be the last to admit it, but she must know my siblings and I are enamored of her talents.
