Pink Weapons For Women: Outstanding or Outrageous?

Pink weapons for women are a relatively new concept. You can buy anything from a simple pink pocket knife to a pink semi-automatic pistol. I believe that this is a ploy by the gun makers to draw younger women into shooting. Most girls love pink so who wouldn't want a pink weapon...right?

Now it's your turn to weigh in on the argument

Pink Weapons For Women: Outstanding or Outrageous?

Outstanding!

Stacy says:

A weapon of color means no different in the damage that it can do. If the carrier is a responsible carrier of the weapon, then why not carry the gun color of their choice. Your already carrying the caliber of your choice. I myself, have a pink weapon of my choice. I happen to love the color pink, does that make me more feminine than the next Red Neck Woman. No. There are some that prefer green, some prefer purple. If I preferred these colors, I'm sure I would have a weapon made specially for my hands. With that, my opinion on this topic is that Pink Weapons are OUTSTANDING.........and I'm excited that pink just happens to be the color the gun manufacturers are using right now. Next year the fad will change.

barbara says:

i think some women feel more comfortable carrying a pink weapon because they dont feel as intimidated by the weapon. I know that when my gf got her first taser it was a plain black looking one, but she didnt like it because she said it looked too scary. I then later bought her one that was pink taser and even though it had 4.5 million volts worth of power she felt a lot more comfortable. If anyone wants to look at the taser im talking about check this link out http://www.willsdefenseshop.com/stun-guns/pink-runt-stun-gun-4-5-million-volts.html

angie says:

outstanding i love them

Olivia says:

I think this is cool because usally when people think they think of tough men going hunting. But now women are encouraged to use guns too. The only problem I see is that it looks like a toy. Hopefully they will have made more real looking model of these by the time I'm old enough for a gun license.

Autumnbrooke says:

i think pink weapons lets men know that girls can do whatever they can do! :)

cha says:

Outstanding. Unfortunately we can no longer sleep at night with the doors unlocked. If something does happen at least a pink gun is easier to find. Pink isn't for babies, adding color to an item adds personality. I already have the pink mace. It stands out and it would be easy to see and grab if i ever need to use it.

hotbrain says:

Hunting in style! :)

crimenomore says:

I think pink Tasers for women should be added to the list. These pink tasers are no toys! www.personalguardiandefense.com

crimenomore says:

I see nothing wrong with pink weapons. A weapon is to be used to defend yourself or others, not waved in someones face to intimidate. Pink Tasers for women are the big thing, if you are on the wrong end you won't care what color it is.

Ladymermaid says:

Hmmm? maybe we should ask Paris about this one?

Heather426 says:

I agree, Jessica, with what you said...

j_barnhart4 says:

I actually like pink weapons. They are cute and appeal to my feminine side but also make me feel empowered. The one downside I see to them is that can look like toys to children. If you know how to properly store it though, you can avoid this problem all together. Overall, I am proud of the weapons manufacturers for taking young women into consideration when putting these items on the market.

Outrageous!

SurvivingBeingATeen says:

I love shooting but I absolutely hate the color pink, I myself prefer purple, but any color is better than pink. Ugh! Just the thought about owning a pink gun makes me feel sick. But that doesn't stop me from going to the range and shooting off a couple mags :)

MoonShrine says:

I like to shoot and I own guns, however I would never buy a pink gun, I don't even like pink, pink is for babies, they don't make mens' guns in baby blue, these are not toys, they're tools, not fashion accessories.

LabKitty says:

It sends a bad message (guns = fun!). There's just some things that just need to be taken seriously. What's next, Hello Kitty rape kits?

Pukeko says:

Pink looks like a toy, and children play with toys.

rms says:

I'm not a fan of guns but if you're going to have one, I say a gun should look like a gun. :)

AnnaleeBlysse says:

Larry McMurtry's in Steets of Laredo has his old Texas Ranger Cap'n Call not wanting a fancy gun. Something about not being able to trust a man that would give you a fancy gun, and not having use for a fancy gun. That would be my philosophy. There is a need for weapons in our society. But, there is no need for idiots that would buy a pink gun.

kimmanleyort says:

I don't think anyone should be encouraged to have weapons - pink or otherwise!

oztoo says:

Why the heck would anyone want to own a gun in the first place. Whatever color it is. I think it's just crazy. I hate guns.

I like that you asked us about the pink weaponry and if it was a ploy to get more women shooting, but some girls like shooting even without the pink( i LOVE purple, so yeah). I know I love going to the range and blowing off a couple rounds.

Nicely done. Personally, I think pink weapons are a terrible idea for many reasons, but I think you did a great job with the debate.

Great idea for a debate even though I hate guns.

You know...I hated guns too until about 3 weeks ago. My hubby has tried for years to get me to go shooting with him and I always declined. I have always been afraid of guns because I didn't know how to operate them properly. I finally gave in and went with him. I think I am an addict now. Since then, I have taken (and passed) a carry permit class and bought my first gun...no, it's not pink :) Take it from someone who was deathly afraid of them my entire life, learning how to use a weapon properly is the first step in easing your fears. Thank you for taking the time to read my lens even though it is a subject that you are uncomfortable with.
