Why Is Pink For Girls?

The Mystery of Pink.

Do girls love pink because of some secret clever marketing strategy or is there a genetic factor that has us biologically hardwired to gravitate towards and yearn for all things Pink in our lives?

This question has been asked by many and answered by few. Studies have been conducted that indicate that women naturally choose colors leaning more towards red or pink shades. So now we know we naturally prefer Pink, but Why?

Since no one can tell me why Pink Is For Girls I decided I would create a lens in search of an answer to this question. While you are here, I thought I would share why I love Pink, as well as discover some really cool pink stuff.

Here are some emotions and feelings that the color pink triggers in humans. This could explain the mystery of why Pink Is For Girls as we tend to be more emotional creatures than our male counterparts.

Why Is Pink For This Girl?

When I was young, I was the proverbial tomboy. Hated Pink. Didn't want anything to do with it. Looked down on it, talked down to it, ran away from it, thought it was for sissy's.

My sister and I had to share a room and our mom never asked what color we wanted our room painted. Guess what color it was? Yep, Pink.....Pink walls, Pink bedspreads, Pink pillows, Pink stuffed animals. Yuck. It was All Pink!

Then one day I grew up and started noticing things. Like boys. I used to just play with them, fight with them and beat them up and stuff. I always beat them in races, could throw a ball further, kick a ball harder, climb a tree faster...you get the picture.

When I finally noticed boys as people, I also noticed they liked girls. Not just any girl, but the girls who loved Pink. You know, those girls who smiled sweetly while saying: Pink Is For Girls

Guess you could say that's when I decided pink might be for me after all. Funny how that works because pink seems to be my husbands favorite color...on me. But more on that later.

The Ultimate Pink Of Why Pink Is For Girls

My Favorite Pink Of All Is The Ultimate In Pink: Mary Kay Cosmetics

Other than pink, nothing makes a girl feel prettier that putting on make up and looking her best. No one does make up and skin care better than Mary Kay. Combining all that great make up with all the pretty pink packaging really puts a girl "in the Pink"!

Well almost.

Mary Kay and I parted ways for a while, You see, I got tired of all those parties. I didn't have time, didn't have the people to invite, just didn't want to be bothered. Back then I could never seem to find anyone who would just sell me my Mary Kay.

So I switched.

Sometimes I would look longingly at the random brochure I would come across. Of course I would be approached from time to time about having yet another party by the random Mary Kay lady. Geez, enough of the parties.

So I kept my distance. Until one day yet another Mary Kay consultant found me. But she was different. She offered me choices, didn't even talk too much about a party. And that's when I discovered....

Now We Can Order Mary Kay Online!

Now maybe girls could order Mary Kay online for sometime, but this was news to me. And that's when the light bulb went off. I can do that. I can be the No Party, No Pressure, I Love Pink, Mary Kay Lady.

And now you know why: This Is My Favorite Pink Link

Pink Flowers Are For Girls

From Pale to Passionate

I love to grow things, garden and have fresh flowers in my house. Like all colors, pink comes in hundreds of shades, but there is a just something about pink flowers and the multitude of shades they come to us in. Pink flowers can be delicate, subtle, soft spoken. On the flip side, they can also be loud, vibrant, striking and passionate. They also have many flavors that fit right in between. Here are a few examples of why pink flowers put me "in the pink".

Tulips are in a class by themselves. I have never grown them, but would love to say these came from my garden.

An Answer To My Question?

Now that I have shared all I know and love about pink, I wonder if I uncovered the answer to my question.

Why Is Pink For Girls?

Here is what I think about Pink. Pink is a feeling that defines us as girls and women. Pink envokes feelings and emotions that are all good and all feminine. We identify with it because it identifies with us. Pink and all of it's beautiful shades and hues can capture every facet of a womans emotions and nurture each emotion in it's own special way.
