I just started as a Mary Kay consultant and I will agree that there are some really pushy sellers out there but I made a promise with myself that I will not be that type of person. I will be the one who is laid-back, easy going and will not push products into your face.

Although Mary Kay products seem to be a little bit more expensive than your other leading brands, Mary Kay actually works and they are the only company with a 100% money-back guarantee. If you order, you are either very pleased with the product or you will receive your money back. I see it as a win-win situation.

I started Mary Kay for the simple fact that I want an extra income to provide for my bills and other things I desire to have. Although starting Mary Kay is a little rocky in the beginning. Customer clientele is one thing I did worry about. Who was I going to sell to?

I started selling to my family, my friends, my church and my other job. I even went as far as making fliers for school.

Ok, I have read in full 90% of these reviews and as for the 10% I simply skimmed over them. Has it occured to the people who have given negatives, that not every product is for everyone. With that, are you telling me, that 'Mabelline', 'Cover Girl', 'Clinique', 'Este' Lauder', 'Loreal', 'MAC' and etc (I think you get my drift)...fullfil your every need in a makeup line or skin care? That these other lines of makeup, are they perfect for you? Are you also telling me that of all these other products you have NEVER had a bad experience? If that's the case, consider yourself lucky and carry on w/ your life. I only wish i could go to the mall's Clinique stand or run into Walmart, pick up a line of make up and be 100% satisfied!

I was introduced a while ago to MK, a distant friend came up to me one evening while I was with my husband, and simply said, "I am starting to sell Mary Kay, if you are interested in hosting a party or trying the makeup give me a call." There was ABSOLUTLY no pressuring at all. After 3 months had passed, and I looked in my own make up drawer, with in those 3 months, I had bought a Clinique foundation, and a Loreal foundation......in addition too, to compacts of eye shadows, and eyeliners. I looked in my drawer and thought......OMG, it was so dang full of cosmetics that I HATED......nothing looked right on me. It was then when I decided to call this distant friend and set up an appt. with her.

Now my consultant was fairly new and didn't have all my answers.....but she found each answer to my question thru her director. The Cleanser she initially put me, yes, it did irriate my skin, but so did Oil of Olay, Loreal's and Cliniques........HOWEVER, i was able to return the MKs for 100% refund. I tried to take back my clinique, and that just about laughed in my face..... My consultant even offered to refund my $ or replace it for a different line of product. I chose to replace it, because I wanted a fair shot at this line of product. It ended up, the second line she tried on me works wonderful... and like other's here, my face in these months that I have been faithful to this product, have improved remarkably. I am a middle aged woman (44) and am starting to fight the battle of crow's feet and fine laugh lines. EVERY brand of make up that I have bought, enhances these lines......they become deeper in appearance. By using the Mary Kay facial treatments as well as the foundations, my lines have not only have lessened, the make up doesn't collect in the creases as bad.

So yes, I do like the make up, thus far in what I have used... what I like most more then anything, knowing that not all make up is for everyone, atleast MK allows you to sample it before you buy...........and then, even after you have it, and try it for a few days and STILL don't like it, you can RETURN IT for 100% refund. Untile Clinque, Revelon, Loreal' or anthing you buy at a drug store/Walmart....can offer me that, I will stick to this.

To this day, occasionally, my consultant will ask if I need anything or if I am unhappy with anything, but for the most part, I call her and let her know what I am running out of something and she either has it on hand or she will order it for me and I have it within 5 days if she does have to order it.

I would like to comment on the person who had said, She tried MK and it totally ruined her skin and still to this day after months later she's still battling with what MK did to her face..............HUM>>>>>>>>do you really think by now since it's been this long that it's MK??? I think you MAY have an underline problem and it has nothing to do with MK makeup because if it's lasting this long, and if you are cleansing your face with any product, the cycle would have been well over by now.

I have used Mary Kay products for over 10 years. I love the basic skin care; I use medium foundation, and sometimes time wise.

I love the lipsticks and Ultimate mascara. I have tried to use Merle NOrman products and clinque products. I always go back to Mary Kay. I have
mature skin (age 65).

I look very natural with Mary Kay and about at least 10 yrs younger. I am a personal user (joined to get products to get a discount). I sell how much I want, when I want. The products are very good. Some people will always complain about cosmetics. Could be jealously! If your doctor says don't use make up, don't use it, like if you have skin problems.

I certainly at age 65 look much better with make up. I take off my make up every night, use light moisturier in the day, and the once a week derma abrasions.

Eye shadow does not look good on me; so I avoid it. The foundation is the very best I have ever tried; but I use a loose face powder to set it in.

You must use all the basics to start with: toner, moisturizer and then foundation. Your consultant will help you. I love the idea of try before you buy; and that customers can earn FREE products.

Now at my age unless I can afford a plastic surgeon, I know I can't get rid of the crows feet or the few wrinkles in my hands or face. After all I am 65! But you must take good care of your skin, eat right, drink lot of water, clean and use moistuzers. MK products are meant to work together; use what you like, you don't have to use it all.

PS: I like the extra $$$. I don't go to meetings because I dont like to be pushed. My avon friend makes about $300/400 a month (and I hate Avon makeup..and other things are too expensive. My avon friend doesn't have to try very hard; I like the extra $$ I make. It takes time to build up a customer base; using excellent customer service that you learn from others. I like Mary Kay.!!

Skin Care Review: Mary Kay Time Wise Day/Night Serums

I bought these products because I saw that the night serum had made an age spot disappear from my mother's skin. She had told me it didn't happen overnight, but it took about 6 months of use. I have uneven skin tone from years of overexposure to the sun, as well as pigmentation left over from when I was pregnant. Also my skin is extremely dehydrated, I live in a hot, dry climate in southern Africa. I bought the TimeWise day and night repair serums in hopes that they would together help with the pigmentation issue and the dryness. Well, after 4 months of use, I've not seen remarkable results. It's hard to tell if my skin looks any different from before at all.

Conclusions
I wouldn't suggest these serums as miracle workers. Perhaps I need to give more time.

I've used the moisturizer for some time now, but only at night. If I use it in the mornings, it adds to my already oily skin and my makeup is sliding off by mid-morning. I do think it makes my skin feel softer, but I don't know about the "age-fighting." I'm not sure any product can fight aging as that is a natural process...but my problem area (around my eyes) has continued to look worse even while using this moisturizer. This product may work well for people with dry skin or normal skin, but I hope to find something better for my oily skin.

Conclusions
Not recommended for oily skin and don't expect it to fight aging.

My skin was somewhat splotchy, scaley and red. I began using Mary Kay Timewise cleanser and also the moisturizer and saw a dramatic improvement in a day or two. It leaves your skin feeling soft and moist, but not greasy. I have tried many other much more expensive products and haven't found anything that works as well. The cleanser has small particles which also exfoliate the skin, but never to the point of irritation. Using the cleaner in combination with the Timewise moisturizer has been very effective for me.

Conclusions
This is a really nice product. I highly recommend trying it.

When we start to get older and it is harder to keep in shape, you start to notice cellulite.

Wow, I have forgotten how much I love the Satin Lips Set. This winter has taken toll on my lips and I must say I had not been taking care of them as I should you know, busy, busy.

Anyway, I got the Satin Lips Set this last week and have been masking my lips every couple of days (that's how bad my lips were) and it has reminded me how wonderful this stuff is. If you have been like me and ignoring your poor lips, get that Satin Lips set out and start masking away. Your lips will love it and you will remember just how much you love it too.

Tip on using the Satin Lips Mask; don't have your lips too wet when you apply the mask. As a matter of fact, they should be almost dry. The mask can not scrub your lips is they are wet, you are almost losing the whole point of the mask if your lips are wet. Dry off those lips and then lightly rub the mask all over your lips and you will have beautiful soft lips in a week.

I LOVE Indulge Soothing Eye Gel!! You can feel it working as soon as you apply it. It has a mild tingly feeling, however don't mistake that as an adverse reaction. It means it's doing its job.

The main benefit I got is that it dramatically reduced the puffiness around my eyes. When I have an extremely hard day and get little to no sleep, my eyes tend to be puffy. I left the gel on for 10 minutes and then wiped it off and my eye area looked "well-rested".

In addition, it made me FEEL more awake too. I think that tingly sensation contributed to that feeling. Since my eyes are not always puffy, I use this product as a mask when i need it. However it can be left on the eye under your makeup for all day benefits.

Conclusions: Indulge Soothing Eye Gel is a necessity for those with occasional or frequent puffy eyes.

I'm thirty-four and my skin is normal to oily. I have fair skin and it's not overly sensistive. I have some uneven skin tone (redness, blotchiness and some mild sun damage (freckles, mostly). I saw results in about a week.

I noticed my skin was softer and I had visiable improvement in even-ness of skin tone and reduction of redness. My freckles even were less noticble, which was very surprising - I've never used any product that made my freckles less noticible. Even my mom commented on how great my skin looked. I used the product in conjunction with other Mary Kay Timewise products, so not sure how it would work as a stand alone product.

Conclusions Even Complexion Essence is a Great product, definately recommend

Mary Kay has two types of shades; Shimmering shades add natural highlights while the matte powders add warmth. They are perfect blends for any skin color.

They are mineral powders and this is great for skin but they also have vitamins A, C, and E added for added protection for your skin.

You can mix and match the highlighting and bronzing shades to customize the perfect look for your skin tone. A real Winner!!!

The microdermabrasion set from Mary Kay works miracles. I love it. You can literally wear no makeup and feel gorgeous. You skin is softened and smoothed after one use, and many people notice a healthier looking face after 2 weeks of use. I have never used or seen a scrub with smaller crystals that makes your revitalizes you skin better. Not only does the set have a first step, but it has the 2nd step of replenishing the lost oils and vitamins in your skin leaving it with a healthy, balanced glow. The overall appearance after using this product is a smoother, more evenly colored face with less noticable wrinkles.

Conclusions
Every person, man or woman should try it and buy it.

MINERAL EYE COLORS

I got my new mineral eye colors in the mail and like many other Mary Kay consultants, I am sure, the first thought you had was... what the heck. I had never seen anything so small, since the microchip was introduced.

Then, I tried my new mineral eye colors and I realized, you need very little product. It glides on smoothly and covers great. I now understand why mineral products come in smaller containers. I love the mineral eye colors especially the Navy Blue and Granite, great colors.
