Pink Flowers

Many enjoy the softer, warmer color of Pink Spring Flowers for their flower garden instead of the more intense colors of red or purple. Pink flowers are excellent choices planted next to white flowers or just with a surrounding of green. Pink Spring flowers have the ability to 'pop' an otherwise drab area in your garden.

The color pink is actually a mild version of red, expressing "love and passion", but in a gentle, more chaste manner. Pink is also the color of youth, joy, gentility, innocence, and sweetness.

I have many types of pink flowers, sometimes I think too many, because my favorite color to plant is purple, but I wouldn't be able to handle missing out on the beautiful pink blooms of my peonies, bleeding hearts, roses, or coneflowers.

I've chosen to present many pink perennial flowers on this page, but there are also some excellent annual pink spring flowers, which could all be mixed and planted together for colorful blooms starting this Spring and lasting until the Fall.

When you look at the websites offering flowers and plants, it's often confusing because 90% of them group all the different flower colors together. That's why I created my Spring Flower series; an easier way to find the exact flower color you desire.

Bleeding Heart - Candy Hearts

Bleeding Heart 'Candy Hearts' is a dwarf fragrant variety with rose/pink heart shaped flowers that will bloom from mid-Spring to the hard frost. Mature Height is 8 to 12 inches. Mature Spread is 12 to 15 inches. Plant in Full Shade to Partial Shade. For Zones 3-8.

Clematis Double Pink Spring Flower

Clematis - Josephine

Clematis 'Josephine' has a double flower that blends the colors of cream, creamy green, pink, and mauve with striping. Mature Spread is 6 to 12 feet. Plant in Full Sun. For Zones 4-8.

Beautiful Pink Dahlia for your Spring Garden

Tropical Dahlia

Dahlia 'Tropical' is a new variety this year with 5-6 inch lavender/redish/pinkish flower blooms. Mature Height is 24 to 28 inches. Plant in Full Sun spacing them 12 to 18 inches apart. For Zones 8-10. Other zones are possible by digging them out and storing just before the first frost in your area in a cool, dry frost-free place.

The Pink Foxglove Flower

Foxglove - Candy Mountain

The Foxglove 'Candy Mountain' has rose pink speckled flower throats and is the first foxglove ever to have upward-facing flowers instead of the usual downward-facing blooms. This plant is a biennial, meaning the first year the plant grows leaves, stems, and roots. The second year it flowers, producing seeds before it finally dies. Collect the seeds, or leave the flower stalks intact for self-sowing the next year. Attracts birds, butterflies, and bees. Mature Height is 3 to 4 feet. Mature Spread is 1 to 2 feet. Plant in Full Sun. For Zones 4-9.

A Huge Rich Pink Hydrangea Flower for Spring

Hydrangea - Pink Shira

Hydrangea 'Pink Shira' has huge flowers that start out green and become infused with red, and then change to shades of rich pink. The Pink Shira variety has been noted to bloom even when other varieties have been damaged by frost. Needs high moisture. Flower color is affected by the pH level, pink flowers require a more alkaline soil. Apply a slow release fertilizer in early Spring. Prune this Hydrangea right after blooming, because it sets bud in the Fall on old wood. Mature Height is 3 to 5 feet. Mature Spread is 3 to 5 feet. Plant in Full Sun to Partial Shade. For Zones 5-9.

A Double Pink Spring Lily Flower

Lily - Double Oriental - Miss Lucy

Lily - Double Oriental 'Miss Lucy' has fragrant double soft pink flowers. Each year the plant will flower more profusely. Pollen free, no messy pollen dust - excellent for cutting. Mature Height is 36 to 48 inches. Plant in Full Sun to Partial Sun at a depth of 8 inches, spacing them 4 to 6 inches apart. For Zones 3-10.

PINK Lily of the Valley Flowers

How cool is this?? A Pink Lily of the Valley! Petite, fragrant, and bell-shaped soft pink colored flowers blooming in the Spring. Mature Height is 6 to 8 inches. Plant in Full Shade to Partial Shade at a depth of 3 inches, spacing them 1 to 2 inches apart. For Zones 3-9.

Tiarella, a Pink Spring Flower

Tiarella - Pink Skyrocket Foam Flower

I love this one! The Tiarella 'Pink Skyrocket' has pink flowers that look like little rockets blasting off. It can be planted as a ground cover or mingled with other shade loving plants. Tiarella Foamflowers are close cousins to the Coral Bells flower, with similar sprays of blooms over a low clump of foliage. Mature Height is 6 to 12 inches. Mature Spread is 10 to 12 inches. Plant in Full Shade to Partial Shade. For Zones 4-9.

Pearl Pink Sweet Pea Flowers

Choose the 250 or 500 seed packs of the Pearl Pink Sweet Peas for your flowergarden. They are perennial climbing vines. Plant in Full Sun. Mature Height is 4ft-5ft. For zones 5-9

The deep pink color of this flower fades with age, and has the capability of becoming invasive. Yarrow attracts butterflies, and Mature Height is 24 inches. For zones 4-9

Ahh, beautiful pink flowers! We get a lot of bright pink sweet peas growing along our sidewalk, which add a lovely color to our yard.
