Hallo Pamela...I loved your lens. I am as English as they come, but have always had a fascination for the Old West. I read the Oregon Trail when I was a kid, and an image that sticks in my mind from the book is the trail of discarded goods across the plains and deserts, including pianos and whatever had to be jettisoned as the journey got harder. I have a 5* collection of Western movies. Is that remotely cool these days? Anyway, thanks for a thrill here, and a lovely lens.
  • JoyfulPamela Sep 25, 2010 @ 5:10 pm | delete
There is just something really cool about the pioneer travelers! It must be great to watch your collection of Westerns. Enjoy them! : )

Pamela, thank you for the sweet note. :) You deserve every bit of it. You have awesome lenses. When I was told to choose someone to nominate for a purple star, I immediately thought of you. The biggest issue was which lens to choose! (because they all are so good!) Congratulations! :)

A friend and I were just talking about the pioneers of the west, while we were hiking up in southern Utah and northern Arizona, in the Escalante-Grand Staircase NM area. We were imagining life back then, which wasn't hard to do in that amazing and largely open and unpopulated area.
