Ranked #9,305 in Sports, #213,244 overall

Pilots generally fall into the high-wing vs. low-wing camps. I currently fly a Piper Arrow and can't imagine climbing into a high-wing Cessna. It has a 200 horsepower engine and retractable gear. Most pilots fly older aircraft since the newer ones are breathtakingly expensive. The one in this picture is a 1976 and with the current instrumentation would probably be valued at around $80K. Newer Pipers start at over $300K. The FAA requires "annuals" which mean that each year the aircraft is gone over with a fine tooth comb and anything that needs it is either fixed or replaced. So owning older aircraft can be expensive as well.

Arrow Panel

Here's a look at the panel of the Arrow. In the center you can see a GPS 430. We recently added a Garmin 396 on the right side which isn't pictured.

I'm instrument rated, which essentially means I can fly in clouds. When I can't see anything outside, I must rely on what these gauges tell me.
