Pirates are mean, nasty, selfish, jealous, greedy, totally bad. Really reprehensible. But that doesn't mean we don' love them. Although their speech is terrible, something close to illiterate we try to imitate them. Why? Because it's fun. Can't Wait for September 19 to come a rollin in.

This is one reason why I decided to start this lens for pirates like meself, who share the same secret. I first heard of Pirate Day in September 2009. Shame on me...ARRRR

International Talk Like A Pirate Day is held each year on September 19. It started like a fun concept where people imitated pirate talk. It has now grown into an international event consisting of 40 countries and has been gaining worldwide media attention ever since. International Talk Like A Pirate Day is not a public holiday. It is a growing global observance.

So Then What Will You Be Doing On International Talk Like A Pirate Day?

Here are some things people do on international pirate day

Some people dress up in costumes. Others talk like

a pirate. Some communities use the event to raise

funds for issues such as cancer support and

research. Some play pirate games, cook pirate food,

and do other great pirate stuff.

Make Your Very Own Pirate Eye Patch

Undergoing a pirate transformation is easy. All you need is:

MATERIALS
Felt (black)
Elastic Cord
Scissors
Measuring Tape or Ruler
Glue

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Trace out a circle onto the felt or foam. Circle should measure about 2 inches in diameter.
2. Cut a piece of yarn long enough to fit around your head.
3. Glue the middle of elastic cord in the center of the circle.
4. Add glue all around the edges of the circle.
5. Fold over the circle in half so that the glue edges meet.
6. Join the ends of the elastic together by tying in a knot.
7. Leave to dry.

Okay I'm having a pirate day today. A somewhat close friend of mine (well she's definitely close to me, not me close to her alright) has been stealing from me for months and I never suspected it was her. A really good pirate now isn't she? Evidence is now staring me in the face and I am still in denial, refusing to believe its her. She's gone overboard this time - touching my gold and high value dollars and what a styliiiish thief is she. She leaves me all the single dollar bills. Narrr she ain't no thief...just somebody who wants money. Some darn pirate arrrrrr. Well as they say we bring tha thieves into our home. Hard Lesson Learnt.

The number one reason is that no true pirate would ever be guilty of selflessnes. Pirate i stands for the letter i meaning me..me..me..A quality that is synonymous with pirates. Selfish...Self centered....you get the idea. As you can see the dot above the i is replaced with a skeleton head.
Reason number two is that no true pirate would be guilty of utter neatness or perfection.This design is a bit scrappy and sketchy just like a pirate would draw it or write it. I like to call it the cool pirate font cause it's so pirate representative. That's not the real name for it though.
