PitBull Training...What You Need To Have For Successful PitBull Training

The American PitBull is probably the most misunderstood dog in history. It has a "reputation" for being overly aggressive, ill tempered and vicious. I have been a dog trainer and breeder for over 22 years, and have worked closely with the American PitBull. None of this could be further from the truth! With the right amount love and the right PitBull training, these instances will never occur.

PitBull training does need to be specific for this breed, but these are some of the smartest, affectionate and loyal dogs around. I have always loved working with these dogs, and it is my strong professional recommendation that you use the proper techniques in training you're PitBull so that you may reap the rewards of owning such a wonderful animal.

Just Remember, PitBull training should be fun for both you and you're pet. It should be a great time for you and you're dog to bond. Just make sure that you have the RIGHT tools to properly train your PitBull.

Why is Proper Pitbull Training So Important?

And Why Pitbull Owners Need To Know Proper Pitbull Training

The problem with most pit bull owners is that they seem to think that just any kind of training will do for their pitbulls, like the local training courses at their local Pet's Mart. However, after all my years of experience as a professional trainer and breeder I know that this kind of thinking can simply lead to many problems later down the road...especially with a Pitbull.

The 3 biggest reasons why proper Pitbull training has to be done in a way that compliments this breeds personality and characteristics:

  • Pitbull's are extremely intelligent dogs, and if you do not know how to properly structure Pitbull training just right for them and take advantage of their intelligence, they will use it towards a destructive nature.

  • Pitbull's are known for their aggressiveness and assertiveness, however much of this negative attention is due to the media really over-hyping certain rare instances. Still, if the Pitbull is not properly trained and socialized, it will impact the way that they greet strangers and other's outside of their family. Pitbull's are very sweet and social dogs if trained in the proper way.

  • More so with the Pitbull then any other breed of dog, they have a mental trigger in their mind that when properly activated, they become very easy and nice to handle...both in the house and out. It is very important that you understand how to properly activate this trigger to insure easy training and wonderful obedience from day to day.

  • Just remember that training you're pit bull is supposed to be a fun activity for both you and you're pet, a time for the both of you to bond. Anyone can accomplish proper Pitbull training with the right tools, it's easier then you might think.

To find the right tools and information, I highly recommend that you get a copy of the book:

The PitBull guide by Tim Amherst

He is a very well respected PitBull training expert in our field and someone who understands more about Pitbull's then anyone else. I highly recommend you get his book, the information and tools he provides regarding PitBull training will pay off ten fold.

Pit Bull Training And What You Need To Know Before You Start Training

Few dogs are as tricky to train as a PitBull. When it comes to pitbull training, everything has to be just right, or things can get ugly down the road. This is something that I had to learn through trial and error unfortunately as a professional dog trainer and breeder. It doesn't have to be this way however, and PitBulls are fantastic dogs that are extremely intelligent, but there are certain ways that they need to be trained and things you have to look out for.

PitBulls seem to have acquired a bad reputation in today's society for their overly aggressive behavior, but the truth is that this kind of behavior from Pit Bulls is extremely rare, and only comes from owners who do not know the basics of Pit Bull training. It doesn't have to be this way, and in my long time experience as a dog trainer and breeder this situation can be completely avoided, which makes way to a very loving, affectionate and loyal PitBull.

Here are some things that you just simply NEED to know before you even start training your PitBull:

The American PitBull is a dog with a very strong, yet gentle spirit; it's an animal whose loyalty and unmatched desire to please its owner make it a top choice for many pet owners. It is an extremely intelligent animal, to the point where it understands the difference between playing with adults and playing with kids, and will vary its degree of gentleness.

However, even with all these admirable characteristics in the PitBull, if you handle PitBull training in the wrong way, it is almost certain to cause serious problems. There are two main causes for a PitBull who is overly aggressive and uncontrollable; either the owner has not trained him/her in a way that is specific to the breed; or the owner hasn't trained the dog at all.

I can not stress it enough, when it comes to PitBulls, proper training of the breed is more essential then any other breed. If you take the time and effort to properly train you're PitBull based on certain principles that are particular to this breed, you will reap the amazing rewards that come with having a well trained and mannered PitBull. It will be worth every ounce of effort and every single penny you put into making sure you undergo proper PitBull training.

As a professional in this field, I very strongly recommend that you seek out more information right after this article. You're PitBull training is extremely important, and I've seen first hand what happens when it's ignored or not performed in the

    Such a wonderful dog...enough said!
