Plain English - beautiful kitchens...
... in the spirit of 17th and 18th century vernacular joinery, using time-honoured methods and materials. Find out more on our Kitchens.
The Longhouse Kitchen
Plain English's founders designed this original range for their own kitchen. They wanted cupboards that had the timelessness of a Georgian Butler's Pantry but which could conceal modern appliances. The Long House design was born.
The Spitalfields Kitchen
Our second range, spitalfields is based on 17th and 18th century original examples which have been adapted to accommodate contemporary tastes. Options in this range include 'panel mouldings', 'quirks' and 'raised and fielded' door panels.
The Williamsburg Kitchen
Designed by Plain English, exclusively for the Shaker Shop in London, using hallmark Shaker details such as simple panelling, turned pegs and knobs and a multitude of raised fronted drawers.
We were mindful of the Shaker creed "whatever fashioned let
it be plain and simple and for
the good".
The Southwold Kitchens
The Southwold KitchenIt will come as no surprise that a company based near the sea will want to reflect its maritime influences in some way: we did it with The Southwold Kitchen. Based on the cupboard designs from a classic racing yacht of the 1940s, this kitchen harks back to an era of beach huts, metal buckets & spades and sandy jam sandwiches.
