Planet Earth will take you to some pretty impossible, truly amazing locations. It will share with you both rare action scenes and intimate moments in the wilderness. You will travel through the mountains and the rivers and you will see Earth's hardest habitats where you will see the Earth's creatures trying to survive.
Planet Earth: The Complete Series took five years and $25 million dollars to make. It took 2,000 days at 200 different sites. It took 40 cameramen and it took a lot of high definition technology.
Was it worth it? Most definitely, the resulting television series is considered stunning and may quite possibly be the best nature series on earth. People do rave about it. They also compare it endlessly to Disney's Nature Earth which used some of the Planet Earth footage.

It also includes 110 minutes of behind-the-scenes information with a ten minute segment devoted to each episode. Unsure which is the movie for you?
If you HAVE seen the BBC Planet Earth production, you might want to pass on spending money on DisneyNature's Earth since you will already have seen at least 50 percent of that film.
If you have not seen either production, I would choose the Planet Earth since it is a more complete series.
If you are not overly enthusiastic about nature films and are unsure whether you want to see the entire BBC series, I think Disney's Nature Earth film is a good choice.

- I remember seeing a nature movie when I was really little at a drive in theatre. I have very few childhood memories but that one sticks! Children are never too young to be exposed to the joys and beauty of our earth. How wonderful that they can see such wonder in their own homes now!
