"From Pole To Pole"

The first segment of the Planet Earth Series, entitled "From Pole to Pole," gives a condensed overview of the entire planet from the North Pole to the South Pole and everything in between. This episode is a basic introduction to the series and sets the tone for the following installments.

"From Pole to Pole/Mountains/Fresh Water"

"Mountains"

The second episode of the Planet Earth series, "Mountains," explores all of the major mountain ranges on Earth. This includes Erta Ale in Ethiopia, which is the worlds longest erupting volcano (over 100 years). Wildlife explored in this installment include Geladas, Walia Ibex, Ethiopian Wolves, Puma, and the Grizzly Bear. The most noteworthy segment in this episode is the first ever documented sighting of the Snow Leopard. This type of footage is what sets the Planet Earth series above and beyond any other nature documentary ever filmed.

"From Pole to Pole/Mountains/Fresh Water"

"Fresh Water"

In "Fresh Water," we explore many fresh water rivers, lakes, and extraordinary waterfalls. This includes "Angel Falls," which is the worlds largest free flowing waterfall. The power of moving water in the form of streams and rivers is also documented in this episode, showing how the Grand Canyon was carved out. With fresh water, comes hundreds of diverse species of fish and other water dwelling creatures. Watch as a Grizzly bear hunts spawning salmon, or a feeding frenzy of piranhas feeds in Brazil.

"From Pole to Pole/Mountains/Fresh Water"

"Caves"

This episode starts off showing cave divers "Skydiving" into the worlds deepest cave, the "Cave Of Swallows," in Mexico.
