Little things count
Climate change and the environment are always in the news. With worrying weather condition and destruction of habitat for both animals and humans, doing our bit towards reducing our carbon emissions is important to everyone. And it doesn't cost the world to help. Everyone can do a bit, no matter how small. And whether you feel that climate change is due to man or from natural causes, reducing our waste, cutting back on energy wasted, helping keep our waterways and seas clean can only help make our world a better place. It can also help you save money, and that can't be bad!

Air Powered Cars - fact or fiction?
Could this be the end of the petrol engine?
Lets face it; fossil fuels are obsolete. There are many different types of 'greener' cars that are now making a noise in the motor industry. From hybrid fuel cells and electic cars to water for gas and biodiesel, there are many ways that you can have an environmentally friendly car that still has power as well as saving you money.
The latest green engine to hit the news is the air
powered car. This engine is powered by compressed air which leaves no nasty emissions and is a lot cheaper to fill than a normal petrol car. So, is this the car of the future? Well, it could be with us quicker than we think, ans indeed patents have been put forward for many years. This is definitely something the big oil barons DO NOT want us to have!

Sustainable living
Saving the planet and you money
Sustainable living is, by definition, a way of life that can be sustained without exhausting any natural product. So, how can we, the ordinary person, achieve this status?
Well it is actually easier to begin than you would think. The first thing to consider is how many consumerables you buy that are energy wasteful: batteries, mobile phones, tumble dryers, old type light bulbs, chemical cleaners, food that has been treated with pesticides are just a few examples. Our lives these days are consumer generated and we all want the newest most high tech item on the market, but this is not the way to help our planet.
Whilst very few of us could take on a total sustainable life with renewable energy sources, no vehicle usage, total natural and organic food and clothing we can all do a bit to help. So, perhaps you could try growing your fruit and veg this year, or swapping those short drives for a bike ride or take a holiday in your own country rather than using a plane. By reducing our carbon footprints we can all do a little bit to reduce greenhouse gasses, and add money to our wallets.

Worm Farming
A great way to help recycle
Everyone produces kitchen waste; from potato peelings to teabags, egg shells to old veg, we all throw out something. When 'green' waste is put into the ordinary rubbish it is buried in landfill. There, although it does decompose it doesn't get enough oxygen to turn into compost, so instead produces methane which is another greenhouse gas.
Many people these days use composters in their gardens, but if you have a small garden or do't like the smell of compost heaps then a worm farm may be the ideal solution. They are cheap, efficient, have almost no smell, are great fun for the kids to get involved with and once started need very little maintainance. There are several types of worm farm available from stacking worms farms to single bucket types. You can even purchase your worms online!
