How to Plan for a Bonfire Party

Are you planning a bonfire party? There is nothing like the warmth and fun of sitting around a fire with a group of close friends, talking, drinking beer and roasting marshmallows.

Whether you're celebrating a milestone birthday, a bridal shower or you decided to just throw a party for the heck of it, this guide will help you get started!

You can throw an amazing and unforgettable party that will have your friends talking for weeks. They might be inspired to throw their own bonfire celebration some time.

1. Location, Location, Location!

Finding the right location is vital to plan your party right!

Before you pick a date and time make sure you pick the right location. Choosing the right location is very vital for planning and safety measures!

Beach Bonfires:

- Building a fire in a firepit is a safe and excellent option.

- If you want to have a bonfire in a backyard or elsewhere that doesn't have a built in pit, make sure that you have a lot of open space, that it's away from buildings and that it isn't near any electrical wires.

- Never build a fire near a lot of trees, dry brush, or near anything that can catch fire easily.

Backyard with or without a Firepit and Sandy Area Bonfires:

How to Build a Bonfire

End of the Year Bonfire (Featured Idea)

It's the end of the year for students across the world.

Have a bonfire for all your friends to throw old, unusable textbooks, old exams and papers into the fire! It's a great way to unwind from school and say hello to Summer 2012! Especially, if you're a recent graduate!

Seating and Lounging Supplies for your Bonfire Party!

Provide comfort or tell your guests to bring their own!

For more formal bonfire parties, the kind that is for a special occasion, you might want to provide these things for your guests so they can fully enjoy themselves. However, your party might be more casual and you can tell your guests to bring their own supplies.

1. Ask friends and family if they have any available seating. Cushions, chaise chairs, lounge chairs and outdoor blankets and towels. Or tell them to bring their own lounging supplies to save money.

2. Check out thrift shops for some cheap cushions and blankets to use.

3. Tell Your Friends to Bring Their Own Seat!

Decorations!

Of course, you do not have to have decorations for a bonfire party. But any additional decorations may give your party a great new ambiance.

Below you will find excellent lighting options!

*Another note - For holidays you might also want to string colored lights for that holiday around trees. For instance, the 4th of July, you can string red, white and blue lights around trees, for Halloween orange and white, for Christmas red and green, etc.

Keep the bugs away!

You'll have to remember that you're outdoors so the bugs are sure to come and pester you. Use these great Bug Repellent Candles, setting them up nicely around the lounge chairs. Not only will they keep bugs at bay, but they'll give a nice lighting effect.

6. Clean Up Time

During your party make sure that you have available trash bags everywhere and make sure that you tell your guests to throw their trash away. Depending on how wild the party is, they should be happy to do this for you, to make easier clean up.

Before the party make sure that you have a few friends that are willing to help you with clean up.

Make sure that you know the beach's (or wherever) rules for clean up and when the beach or park closes.
