Plantar Fasciitis Slippers: A Review
There are a lot of choices and that's both good and bad. A virtual library of slipper choices for plantar fasciitis pain can be overwhelming. Plus, it can be a very expensive process. Hopefully, my suggestions might be helpful to you.
Plantar fasciitis is painful. Sometimes it can be very painful. If you've never experienced it, imagine getting out of bed in the morning, putting your feet on the floor, and feeling like you've stepped on a sprained muscle. It stops you short, believe me.
My heart may be ready to leap out of bed and face the day, but my feet are not. My right foot is worse than my left. Just to make the pain semi-tolerable, I used to walk on the right edge of my right foot just to be able to walk a few steps and "work out" the pain. It's awful. I did go to an orthopedist for some daily shoe inserts, but I also needed some comfortable slippers for walking around the house. One of my favorite things to do is slip on a comfortable pair of slippers after a long day at work. Who's with me? I also like to wear them on weekends when I'm doing housework. I know, glamorous, right? I'm sure Angelina Jolie has at least one pair of slippers.
Plantar Fasciitis Slippers: My Top Choice
My top choice is the Haflinger Unisex Grizzly Slip-On. These are very comfortable shoes and they don't look so bad either. The Haflinger slippers are warm on my feet because they're made of wool. I wore them for two years - so much so that the toe area became worn on top of the shoes and I had a little hole there! Not very attractive now, but still comfortable and a lot of arch support. The Haflinger Unisex Grizzly Slip-On

Yes - a pillow!!!
I did at one time order one of those foot boots from Foot Smart for Plantar Fasciitis pain. You strap it on the bottom part of your leg and it keeps your feet pointing to the ceiling and stretches your arch while you sleep. Medically, a good solution. In reality, obnoxious and I stopped wearing it.
Yes, it helped for the week or so that I did wear it, but the thought of wearing my right leg strapped to that thing for the rest of my life was not appealing in the least. It would wake me up every time I tried to turn over and sleep on my side. It was bulky and now it sits in my closet somewhere. I had to find a solution that worked for me and I did.

Okay , that is NOT me in the bikini. Now that we got that straight, this is the foot massager that I use and highly recommend.
It's very simple to use. Just plug it in. It's small and portable enough that it can fit under a bed so no one will have to know that you have aching feet!
I suggest you wear socks when using the massager for any length of time. I tried it barefoot once and my feet were so stimulated afterwards that they started itching. You need the socks on as a buffer.
One of my Plantar Fasciitis Pain Solutions
Drumroll, please. I thought why couldn't I use something else that would also keep my toes pointing to the ceiling, but would be a lot more comfortable.I took a small pillow and put it (under the covers) down at the foot of my bed. I then got in bed and had the heel of my plantar -weary foot resting flat against the pillow with my toes pointing up to the ceiling. I had a good night's rest and no heavy boot thing to unstrap. Well, it worked. I had very little plantar fasciitis pain the next morning. Again, I'm not a doctor, but it has worked for me and I've had that little pillow there ever since

- Great information. It is painful for sure. I can attest to that.... and it takes a long time to go away and it's never gone for good. Thank you for the tips. I like the pillow idea and had never heard of that before. I hope I never have to try it but if my PF flares up again, I will.

- Interesting and helpful lens! My husband has suffered from this but managed to "cure" himself by Googling foot exercises and doing them religiously. But just in case, I'll show him your article. Thanks for writing it!
