Plantar Wart Home Remedies
Plantar Warts are also known as verrucas. These are warts which are found on the soles of the feet. They are caused by a virus, (human papilloma virus), HPV and are contagious. Because they are on the sole of the foot, pressure causes them to grow up into the skin and they become flat, painful and tender.
Remedies
There are many home remedies you can use to help get rid of warts. The following is a list of just some of them.
Put a small piece of banana peel on it. The fleshy side of the banana skin should placed over the wart. Secure with a band aid and wear a sock. Leave on over night. Continue this until the wart turns brown/black and can be removed easily, or may even fall off.
Use baking soda. Mix to a paste with castor oil and apply liberally to the wart. Cover with a band aid or bandage. Leave overnight. Continue this as required. Another alternative is to soak your foot in a solution of baking soda and water. Let the foot dry naturally with the baking soda on it. Again continue as necessary.
Cut open a Vitamin E capsule. Rub it onto the wart and cover with a band aid. Do this 2 to 3 times a day until the wart disappears. Also take a Vitamin E capsule orally daily.
Soak a cotton wool ball in apple cider vinegar. Put the cotton wool ball on the wart and secure with a band aid. Repeat this everyday, with a fresh cotton wool pad and vinegar, until the wart is gone.
Tea Tree Oil and Lemon Essential Oil. Put a couple of drops of each essential oil on a Q Tip, apply this to the wart twice daily. This may need to be repeated for 2 to 3 weeks. Once the wart comes to the surface of the skin, soak the foot for an hour in water with a few drops of tea tree and lemon oil. The wart should fall off.
Cover the wart or warts with a piece of duct tape which totally covers the growth. Leave this on for 6 days, on the 7th day, remove the tape, soak the foot in water and use a pumice stone or emery board to remove the wart. Dry the foot and apply another piece of duct tape. Continue this until the wart is gone.
