Planting A Rose Garden
Choosing roses can be very romantic since roses are typically associated with love. Choosing which roses to put in your garden can be tricky as there are so many varieties. There are so many choices between colors and sizes that it can be difficult to know which type of rose to choose. Here are a few tips for making these choices easier.

TIP ONE: CONSIDER COLOR

You should search out which colors you like best. Remember to consider all of the colors in your garden. If the colors clash amongst each other, your garden may look messy and unorganized.

Planting a group of orange tulips next to pink roses is not as pretty as complementing colors. Instead , try to get your colors to blend and spread them out so that the beauty of each plant and rose can come through.
TIP TWO: PICK A GOOD SIZE

See exactly how tall and wide your roses will be at full grown. Remember that the size of rose bushes varies greatly. Also, remember that the flowers themselves come in a number of sizes.

You can choose roses that have large buds, but mini varieties. If you're interested in creating bouquets, larger is usually better. It all depends on your specific needs!
TIP THREE:CHOOSE A TYPE OF ROSES THAT FITS INTO YOUR LIFESTYLE

If you are not an avid gardener, then you need to look for roses that are low-maintenance and hardy. A lot of rose bushes are extremely easy to grow and do not require much more than the occasional pruning.

Maintaining your roses can take different amounts of time according to your own personal needs. Some species may be traditionally difficult to grow!
TIP FOUR: DETERMINE WHY YOU WANT ROSES
For examples, pale pink roses emote grace, gentleness and gratitude; yellow roses indicate friendship and freedom. There are a number of other colors of roses that symbolize other feelings and relationship status.
TIP FIVE: SET A ROSE GARDEN BUDGET

The great thing about a rose garden is that you can actually afford to cut your own roses and send a whole bouquet.
That doesn't mean gardening is cheap! Purchasing roses bushes can be fairly expensive, depending on how large they are, and you need other tools and items as well. Fertilizer, top soil, irrigation systems, hoes, shovels and clippers can be pricey when added together. So, set a budget. If you have a low price range, consider buying one plant instead of two or three.

"Skylark" English Roses
Peace Rose
The Peace rose is the most famous and successful garden rose of all time. Over one hundred million plants had been sold, as of 1992. It is a Hybrid Tea rose with very large flowers and a light yellow to cream color. It is very hardy and resistant to disease making it popular in gardens as well as in the floral trade (Beales).
It was developed by French horticulturist Francis Meilland in the years 1935 to 1939. When Meilland foresaw the German invasion of France he sent cuttings to friends in Italy, Turkey, Germany, and the United States to protect the new rose. The rose became known as 'Peace' in the following way. Early 1945 Meilland wrote to Field Marshal Alan Brooke (later Viscount Alanbrooke), the principal author of the master strategy that won Second World War, to thank him for his key part in the liberation of France and to ask if Brooke would give his name to the rose. Brooke declined saying that, though he was honored to be asked, his name would soon be forgotten and a much better and more enduring name would be "Peace".
The name "Peace" is a trade name; its formal cultivar name is Rosa 'Madame A. Meilland'. The adoption of the trade name "Peace" was publicly announced in the United States on 29 April 1945 by the introducers, Messrs Conard Pyle Co.. This was the very day that Berlin fell, officially considered the end of the Second World War in Europe. Later that year Peace roses were given to each of the delegations at the inaugural meeting of the United Nations in San Francisco, each with a note that read "We hope the 'Peace' rose will influence men's thoughts for everlasting world peace".
Peter Beales, English rose grower and expert, said in his book Roses, "'Peace', without doubt, is the finest Hybrid Tea ever raised and it will remain a standard variety forever".
Gardening At Wikipedia
Gardening is the practice of growing plants for their attractive flowers or foliage, and vegetables or fruits for consumption. Gardening is a human activity used to produce edible foods and use plants to beautify their local environmental conditions. Its scale ranges: from fruit orchards, to long boulevards plantings with one or more different types of shrubs, trees and herbaceous plants, to residential yards including lawns and foundation plantings, to large or small containers grown inside or outside. Gardening may often be very specific, with only one type of plant grown, or involve a large number of different plants in mixed plantings. It involves an active participation in the growing of plants and tends to be labor intensive, which differentiates it from farming or forestry.

I'm a big rose fan. You have lots of nice photos to get us motivated. We've planted a good number of English roses this past fall will let you know which ones do well here in our hot, humid summers. We don't have any tea roses as we like the bushy floribundas, old fashioned European varieties and climbers. Perfume is a must, too. If you want fragrance be sure to pass up those that state, "lightly fragrant".
