Brazil, Plastic Surgery Capital of the World

Hello and welcome!

Are you interested in plastic surgery or reconstruction or another cosmetic procedure but can't afford it in the USA....or CAN but have just heard great things about the reputation of Brazilian Plastic surgery Techniques and prices?  Well you have come to the right place. 

Feel free to ask questions about techniques that are uniquely Brazilian (like LipoAbdominoplasty and Total Body Contouring or Body Sculpture, the Brazilian Butt Lift, etc) or post about your own experience in Brazil if you have already been! 

I lived in Brazil for four years, am bi-lingual, and have spent the last five years working directly with Brazilian plastic surgeons, internationally known, that share their unique state of the art techniques with the world at teaching conferences, etc.  I can answer almost any question you may have!

I would also like to know if you have had an experience already in Brazil with a plastic surgeon (that speaks English!  ALL of my surgeons do, I cannot imagine referring my fellow american peers to a surgeon that they could not communicate with!).  My company is expanding our options to you and would like to hear of positive experiences with other reputable and ethical surgeons in other cities of Brazil that deserve to be marketed here in the USA to your peers!

    I would like to know have anybody actually been to brazil to get surgery, how was the experience, what was the cost, etc. I'm really interested in getting a butt job done and want to know if Brazil would be a good place to travel to get it done.

    Hi Antoine.. this is my experience with the ?miraculous? Smart lipo technique?that ruined my life!!

    On January 2006, I took the very bad decision to have a liposuction procedure done in Michigan in a very reputable hospital with the head of plastic surgery department as my surgeon.
    My super commercial plastic surgeon convinced me to have my liposuction done with the miraculous ?smart lipo technique?.

    I can quite honestly say that said procedure ruined my life ? having always had a beautiful figure and having become used to walking into a room and everybody quieting for a second, I became invisible instantly ? I had requested that a bit of fat which I couldn't budge with exersise, be removed from the top of my legs ? and I ended up with no hips no buttocks and no waist ? essentially a man!

    The following four years were hell ? I lost all my confidence ,, put on 10 kilos, did not want to go out of the house and became very depressed, that is until I met a woman who have had several procedures done in South America ?bolivia- including liposuction, breast surgery, tummy tuck, and buttock augmentation. She went through MakeoverTravel - a medical tourism agency specialized in plastic surgery procedures for American people that want to have a plastic surgery done in South America ?Bolivia- with very skilled plastic surgeons but at affordable cost.
    I cannot state enough just how impressed I was when she showed me her before and after pictures!!

    I have to admit I was a bit nervous with the idea of having my plastic surgery outside my country, but after months of searching for the right plastic surgeon I finally decided to go to Bolivia with MakeoverTravel..first of all for a financial reason but above all because I was astonished with the results of this woman.
    It was my last chance..I had given up the hope of finding a surgeon who could at least rebalance out my body without being told that I was too old ? and even possibly making my problem worse.
    Once in Bolivia, I was a bit nervous walking into my plastic surgeon's office for the first time, but from the moment I was greeted at the front desk to then being taken back for my initial consultation, I was immediately put at ease!
    My surgeon's approach was so exactly what I was looking for,, somebody who would be able to get rid of all the horrible fat on my back and stomach to balance out my body so I could then find a way to loose the extra weight and therefore get some semblance of my former self back.
    The liposuction I had was a ?classical..traditional?conventional? tumescent liposuction and this is the BEST technique.
    My surgeon is an artist with such perfection. This liposuction procedure was a piece of cake, well worth it.
    All went ahead without a hitch ? the recovery time is so amazingly quick it's quite difficult to believe, and I can honestly say that the most uncomfortable time is the first few hours after the op which quickly passes ? and the next day you're walking the recommeded 10 miles.!!!!
    To resume, I have my ?me? back- which to me is priceless ? after the awfull time previously?My advice is: ?DO NOT LET YOURSELF BE PERSUADED BY THOSE COMERCIAL PLASTIC SURGEONS THAT PROMISE YOU THE MIRACULOUS SOLUTION WITH NEW TECHNIQUES?.
    In the case of liposuction? if most of the most reputable plastic surgeons in the world continue using the tumescent liposuction technique it's just because it's the best technique.

    Dear Anne,

    I've read a lot lately about the advantages of the new "smart lipo" or "lipolisis" procedures for removing fat.

    I'm particularly interested in this procedure to treat a case of gynecomastia. Do you have references about surgeons specialized in this procedure in Rio de Janeiro, or other kind of advice?
