Play it, but don't break a sweat

Badminton has been around for ages and loads of people play it all over the globe. There is no arguing its global appeal and it has been an Olympic sport since 1992 as well.

It's origins date back to the 18th century, but we are not that big on the historic lessons and things, but you can read more on the Badminton page on Wikipedia about this if you really want to.

We are more interested in how you can play the game without leaving the seat you are on right now.

Run and around and hit it like crazy, while sitting down

Instructions for playing badminton online

I know that makes a lot of sense, but that is the way you can play it. Badminton is definitely one of the most challenging racquet-sports out there.

The rules are not hectic and the the playing field is smaller than a tennis court. However the deceptive shuttlecock is the problem. When you play badminton the flight of this little projectile is what will keep you running around like mad.

With the feathers on the end of it, it loses speed very quickly due to wind resistance. This makes it very challenging to try and keep up with the action. I am just getting tired thinking about it. So let's slow it down a little.

Badminton play time - I stink at it though

Playing badminton games online is a lot of fun and you would not kill yourself in the process.

All you need to do to play this version of badminton is you need to be able to use your computer's keyboard. You need to mix up your shot selection when playing against the computer and I have found that the long shots are the ones that win you the points most often.

The idea of the game is to try and be the first one to 21 to win the game. Believe me however that the computer player will give you quite a stiff challenge as you try to get the, but it is all worthwhile.

What I like about online games like these is the fact that they are free to play on sites like Skillpod.com. They also don't take ages to play, so you can play them as and when you like, even if you only have a few minutes available.

Me in action... well trying at least

As you can see I haven't got the hang of it totally yet. I am trying but the computer still keeps killing me. Someday computer... someday.
