Wii is addicting! I got one yesterday and stayed up playing it till the Wii hours of the morning. They are not kidding when they say it will give you a workout too. Have not even hooked up the Wii Fit yet but got some exercise playing the sports games that the Wii came with. The bowling and boxing are a blast. I think I'll make a video of Hubby playing it today!

Top 3 Reasons Why Wii Play Certain Types of Video Games

Reason #1-Kids

When you have children, you are very careful about the kinds of video games you buy and play. They have to be kid safe. No violent games full of crime, death or suicide. I also was not going to buy any mind numbingly boring games that did not teach anything for my kids. We were always on the lookout for fun and interesting games, which are hard to find on some game systems.

As the children grew up so did the sophistication of the game consoles and games. We all want the latest and greatest without compromising our standards. That is definitely human nature.

Reason #2-Complication Factor

The daughter and I both liked games that were fun to play and not so complicated to learn. You know, Spyro and Crash Bandicoot. We did not like the death, die, and kill kind with one exception, Halo. We bought an X-box system when they first came out. We spent some happy hours together playing Crash.

As time went on, we thought about getting a different system though so we would have a wider variety of games to play. Most of the games for the X-box are just too violent for us but we did have the guys in our family to think about and now in my opinion there is no decision. The Wii is the way to go. It has something for everyone.

Us girls like games that are not too hard to play. Some of the games out there need a rocket scientist to learn all of the controls before you can really enjoy playing them. I never want to work that hard when relaxing with a game.

The boys were the opposite. The more complicated the better they liked them. Some people say there is a correlation between the kind of sports you like and the type of video games you play. I disagree. I like hockey, baseball and horseracing but do not like to play those kinds of video games.

Reason #3-Need

People may feel the need for some excitement in their lives so they play the fantasy and role-playing kind of video games. Their own reality needs improvement or maybe they want some status or power that they do not have in real life. Some folks just enjoy the games but I really think that for some, it is because they have no life outside of them.

Of course I am talking about the people that play for hours on end to the exclusion of all else, not the casual gamer. I personally would rather be outside playing with my GPS unit while doing some Geocaching. Oh wait, that may be an addiction also! I guess we are all addicted to one type of game or another.

Look Out Gym Membership, Here Comes The Wii Fit!

Here is some good news for those who are struggling with their weight loss. The new Nintendo Wii Fit has completely changed the way people will exercise forever. The Wii Fit is so successful; it's practically sold out everywhere! What makes this device so revolutionary? There are many reasons but the primary reason being that the Wii Fit makes exercise and losing weight dare I say, fun!

It's understandable that there is some skepticism going into this product, the Wii Fit is something completely new, and very different from anything the world has ever seen. How is the Wii Fit any different from say a treadmill, or jogging at the park? The difference is that the Wii Fit can give you the same workout that jogging would, except repackaging this exercise as something that's fun to do. We all know it's impossible these days to stick to a routine, especially when it comes down to working out at a gym or running. With our hectic lives it's easy to just forget about our health. The Wii Fit changes this by making things easier. This "game" has virtually every kind of workout you could ever want or need built into it. As if that wasn't enough, Nintendo is also coming out with other games that work with the Wii Fit. Would the Wii Fit really be good for your time of routine? It's hard for me to say, but unless you have a full-blown gym in your basement and think that jogging on a treadmill for 30 minutes is entertaining, I'd have to say it would be. This great device seems to be created just for those people who have little time or interest in exercising.

The Wii Fit has already helped millions of people get into shape, mostly in Japan at this point, however this great device is spreading across the world like wildfire. If you are interested in changing your way of life forever, I'd strongly look into this great device. If you are reluctant to look into the purchase of the Wii Fit simply because you don't have the actual Wii system, look around you will definitely find some great deals. If you think about it, the Wii and Wii Fit both cost less than the price of a treadmill, or even a couple months of a gym membership. Now that's a thought, save time and money by using the Wii Fit, oh, and you can lose weight too!

PS3 vs. Xbox 360: Which Console to Use for Playing NCAA 09 Football?

For all you gridiron fans out there, life just got sweeter thanks to the release of NCAA 09 Football. Other than McFadden on the cover, there are also plenty of new drool-worthy features on this version, available for Playstation, Xbox, Wii, DS and PC. Just imagine this: wider spaces, bigger holes, directional pump, play bluffs, enhanced passing control, open receivers and cutback lanes. You could also manipulate the ambience, with better customization controls and better-looking fields. And yes, enjoy the dynamic crowd in the sidelines with cheerleaders, mascots and more players getting in on the action. When there's so many of these waiting for your shaky hands to handle, where do you play? The PS3 or Xbox 360? We examine the pros and cons:

Play with PS3 Okay, so you probably weren't too happy with NCAA 08 playing on your Playstation. After all, you got into the action at just 30 fps (frames per second). Xbox players had it better " at 60 fps. Sony has heard your cry and answered your prayers. NCAA 09 can now be played on the PS3 at a faster, smoother 60 fps.

And if you want to be part of the Blu-ray DVD wave of the future, this is an excellent console to get. After all, there are other games out there that you want to immerse yourself in. Playing control and manipulation on the NCAA 09 is also much improved, so that's probably something you can perform deftly with the PS3. If you donâ%u20AC%u2122t mind the occasional less-than-perfect color, images and graphics, go ahead and choose the PS3.

Play with Xbox 360 If it's graphics you're after, go with the Xbox. Per pound of muscle, Xbox 360 easily trumps PS3, even if Sony's release papers say otherwise. Its GPU is simply much more powerful, allowing you to enjoy the stadium views in all its pixilated glory. Vertex processing is also well worth it.

If you're talking high def, Xbox can deliver, something than PS3 can't, since its anti-aliasing technique is a wee bit backward than that of Xbox. Since you'll probably want to take pleasure in scoring that touchdown without feeling like you've been blinking the whole time, get your NCAA 09 Football game on the Xbox. After all, your hands may do all the work but your eyes are the ones doing the navigating. Give them a good treat.

Which one to use to play NCAA 09 Football with? If price matters to you, get the Xbox 360. For one, the PS3 is more expensive, although you'll need to shell out additional cash to get HD-DVD on your Xbox. But with the faster rate of running NCAA 09 Football, there shouldnâ%u20AC%u2122t be a lot of complaints on your part if you choose the PS3.

However, for the money and the sheer enjoyment of a great-looking game at its spiffiest, you might want to try the Xbox 360. NCAA 09 Football's latest enhancement suit this gaming system. But again, it still depends on your own inclinations.
