What gift these days can hold a child's attention longer than 5 minutes? There are millions of choices. But Playmobil Police Headquarters play set might do the trick. There is a separate dispatcher booth, reception area, little armory, and of course a lockable cell with breakout window and wall, so the criminals can get away and police can give proper chase. As all Playmobil playsets, this set is self contained - you don't need additional accessories to play. There are of course plenty of accessories, but you don't need them at first.

Every boy goes through a cops-and-robbers phase, some girls like these games too. The Police Headquarters is a perfect gift for such a child. If more than one child is playing, they can take turns playing cops or robbers. In doing so, they improve their social skills, learning to negotiate, to give and take. The cops will catch the robbers, or the robbers will get away - responses to these events allow children to practice new social skills and get used to interactions with others. As I mentioned before, there are plenty of accessories you can get to make the game even more fun. You can get Playmobil Police Addons - additional police officers, you can get Playmobil Patrol Car with two additional figures and plenty of accessories. But my favorite is the Playmobil 5844 Police Playset with Helicopter, Boat, 2 Jetskis and Jeep. As the name says, you get a helicopter, boat, jet skis and a jeep. Equipped with all this hardware, the little policemen will be busy for months coming with new ways to capture escaping robbers. Of course, it's likely that robbers will get a hold of some of these vehicles, making the chases even more exciting.

But of course, the play set is not only a toy - it's an opportunity for teaching lessons about right and wrong, about good behavior, and consequences of bad behavior. Teaching right and wrong is not popular these days, which leaves many kids confused and easy prey for drug dealers and other criminals. I am not moralizing here - what you consider right-and-wrong is up to you. But this toy is a perfect opportunity to talk about these subjects naturally, not as a lecture, but simply as part of the play. As simply "these are the ways we behave, those are the ways we do not behave" - mentioning proper and improper behaviors during the course of the game - opportunities come naturally and kids will take it in just as naturally.
