What is the Sony Playstation Vita

Hey I'm a gamer and I like to play my PSP and the games that I do have for it. The PSP could have been great but it was a let down some areas so when I heard about the Playstation Vita I wonder would it be a great buy or not but I know I'm more on the line of buying one by the amount of things the PSVIta can do and the games that it suppose to have during its launch. So I'm writing to this to see what other people think of the Playstation Vita or if they might get one or not or anything else in general about the Playstation Vita.
The Playstation Vita also known as PS Vita is Sony upcoming handheld game console it is the successor to the PlayStation Portable or PSP that Sony announced at E3 in June.

Playstation Vita Features

I really like the many features that are they doing with the PS Vita that you couldn't do with the psp. With a full set of unique new features that complement and enhance the gaming experience that wasn't possible with the PSP or even when they brought the PSP GO, and now we can take on anyone from anywhere at anytime, just hope they have the right games for it.

The PS Vita has motion sensors and Six Axis sensors

Always on: Take on your friends or the whole world anywhere, anytime with Wi-Fi or always-on 3G with At&t

Dual analog sticks: Feel the full-on intensity of First Person Shooters with Dual Analog Sticks

PS3 Integration: Enjoy continuous, uninterrupted gameplay between your PS3 and PlayStation Vita systems with compatible titles

Augmented Reality: Merge the real world and the game world with front and rear camera enabled augmented reality

Multitouch Display: Front and back multitouch screens and the front screen you can catch every detail with the PlayStation Vita system's stunning multitouch 5-inch OLED display

Chat anywhere: Chat in the midst of multiplayer action or while watching videos or anywhere you can connect to Wi-fi

Update: Playstation Vita browser won't support flash

It was previously confirmed that the PlayStation Vita would have an internet browser, but Famitsu (via Gamasutra) has now revealed the first details. According to their report, the browser will support cookies, Javascript 1.7 and HTML5, but not Flash.
Famitsu implies that Flash support could come in the future, though Sony hasn't confirmed that. Previously, the PSP launched without Flash support and was later patched to include it.

Update:PlayStation Vita will be region free

In a PlayStation Vita session for European and Australian press, Michael Denny, Sony's Vice President of Sony Worldwide Studios Europe, confirmed that - to the best of his knowledge - Vita would be region free. This means games from any region will play on systems from any region. This is in line with the PlayStation 3 - which is also region free, but not with the 3DS, which has region restrictions. Good news for PlayStation fans who want to check out niche Japanese titles or purchase games while travelling.

Playstation Vita Games

The game line-up for PS Vita is one of the reason I want to get one and also the features. They bringing out many good games I think that help out the PS Vita and make it big. PS Vita games are being distributed through retail via flash storage as well as downloadable from the PlayStation Store and it has a main feature is full backwards-compatibility with all PSP games digitally released on the PlayStation Network and as a previous owner of both an original PSP this appeals a lot, as I will be able to play games I had given up, never played or forgotten about from a couple of years ago for free. Part of me asks why I never played them much in the first place, but at least I have the option to increase my Vita games collection straight away
The launch titles that been confirmed for release and they are:
Uncharted: Golden Abyss Resistance
Killzone
Real Fighters
Little Deviant
Call of Duty
Lumines
Sonic Generations
Hustle Kings
Top Darts
Mr. Ink Jet
BlazBlue Continuum Shift Plus II
Silent Hill: Book of Memories
Mortal Kombat
Lego Harry Potter (5-7 years)
Pro Evolution Soccer 2012
F1 2011
Hot Shot Golf (Everybody's Golf)
FIFA 12
Wipeout 2048
Smart Ash
Broken
Super Stardust Delta
Sound Shapes
LittleBigPlanet
Dynasty Warriors
Gelding
Bioshock
Street Fighter Tekken x
ModNation Racers
Virtua Tennis 4
Ridge Racer
Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee
Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath
Gravity
Dust 514
Michael Jackson: The Experience
Dragon's Crown
Shinobido 2
Rugby Challenge
Resistance

Another nifty feature that was shown was the ability to start a game on your PS Vita, then resume it on your PS3, using cloud-based saves. feature called "Cross-play" which will offer games which can be played between players on both PlayStation Vita and PS3 consoles. The new PS Vita version of Little Big Planet takes full advantage of the handheld's unique control capabilities, as well as a cool touch-based level editor also you can make your own race track just with the touch control capabilities on ModNation Racers and there are more than 80 titles in development for the PS Vita.

To me it looks like if Sony do the launch right with these titles it could be a big hit. There is many games titles that I think I would get even though they got the same titles on the PS3. To me I would like to play those titles on go and if they have multiplayer with some games like Street Fighter Tekken x would make it that much better because I can vs anyone from anywhere at any time not just having to be at home to play. Like if you some place boring or there is nothing to do where you are at then you could just pull out the PSVita go online play some multiplayer and I like to idea of that.

So when will Playstation Vita be released

PS Vita will come in both WiFi and 3G/WiFi models and will be out December 31, 2011 for a world wide release with two PS Vita versions a WiFi Model for $249 and a 3G/WiFi Model for $299. Sony also announced an exclusive partnership with AT&T as the 3G carrier for PS Vita.

Update:

Japan might be getting the PlayStation Vita this December, but the rest of the world won't have to wait too long after that. Sony has confirmed that the PlayStation Vita will launch in North America, Australia, Latin America and Europe on February 22, 2012.

Update: Get the PlayStation Vita One Week Early

Sony has announced the First Edition bundle for PlayStation Vita. Hardware marketing director John Koller revealed on the PlayStation Blog that customers who pre-order the bundle will receive it on February 15th, one week ahead of the system's scheduled release date.

In the United States, the bundle includes a 3G version of the system along with a copy of Little Deviants and a 4GB Vita memory card. In Canada, the WiFi version of the system will come in the bundle, along with a special carrying case, the 4GB memory card and Little Deviants. The U.S. version will be $349.99, and Canada's will be $299.99.

"We've decided to give our most loyal fans an opportunity to own a PS Vita before everyone else," Koller wrote.

The bundle will be available to pre-order at select locations starting today. More pre-order information is available at Sony's site.

Playstation Vita Competition

As impressive as the PS Vita is, though, the question remains the same: who will buy it or not? It's all very well for gamers to appreciate the graphics, have fun with the new control schemes and try out the features, but who is going to pay for the $249 or $299 price tag to own one plus the extra things need for it?

There's no question that the hardware in the PlayStation Vita looks impressive. The real question is whether or not handheld gaming systems can compete with smartphones and tablets now that they're so pervasive. I'm was also wondering whether to buy a tablet like an iPad or just wait for the PS VIta and to get some games for it, but the PS Vita's hardware and control capabilities are arguably more advanced than the iPad, and the inclusion of tactile controllers might be enough to convince some to buy. PS Vita is a portable gaming powerhouse with specs roughly equivalent to a PS3. Who wouldn't want one? The system itself certainly seems well designed for gamers, with titles that look as good as early PS3 games, twin analogue sticks, front and rear touch panels and Sixaxis motion controls. What we've seen of the games so far indicates a merging of traditional console gaming with new fads like augmented reality and multi-touch. This could be a winning strategy, as gamers have been complaining for years that genres like first person shooters are almost unplayable on handheld due to poor controls like the PSP
Nintendo DS have done way better with better games and selling then the PSP and some might think when the PS Vita comes out it might won't do that good like the PSP. Since the 3DS been out for awhile some people might stick with that or buy one because of how well the DS did compared to the PSP. If you have a table you might not see any needed to get one either.

For me with all this information and they way I feel about the PS Vita I think I'm going to buy one. I'm a gamer I like my PSP and so far the PS Vita is much more than a PSP and you can do a lot more things too so I'm hook for the PS Vita will you be hooked and excited for the PS Vita or not or you will be the one to wait awhile after its launch to see how good the PS Vita will do.

Sony: No PlayStation Vita Shortages

Sony has faced system shortages in the past, but Sony director of hardware marketing John Koller says that the Vita will be different. According to Koller, production has ramped up to ensure that plenty of Vitas will be available when the system is released.

"We've increased production materially since E3," he told AllThingsD. "We learned our lesson to make sure you have enough product."
Koller also said that the Vita won't face competition from the Nintendo 3DS or games on mobile phones and tablets.

"This is a larger game experience," he said. "We think we are insulated from the competition."

The Vita will be released on December 17th in Japan, and on February 22, 2012 in Western territories.

Sony Reveals Vita Pre-Order Bonuses Only in Europe for now

Sony announced today that the PlayStation Vita will receive some awesome pre-order bonuses in Europe. In a post on the European PlayStation Blog, European product manager Adam Grant revealed two pre-order gift packs that will be available when the system launches in February.
The first pack will include a set of "PS Vita Blue" in-ear headphones, while the second includes a PS Vita wallet "with a hidden compartment for 3 PS Vita cards and 3 PS Vita memory cards." Both packs will also include PSN vouchers for various discounts, avatars and PlayStation Home items.

Sony says the packs are currently only set for Europe, but we're hoping that other territories will get something similar as we come closer to the Vita's launch on February 22nd.

An interesting question - I've only recently bought a PSP - good for gaming on the go, but at the price it is at, does the Vita compete with touch screen tablets - I can see that it may be hard for this to compete with the likes of the iPad, and the myriad touch screen phones. The PS3 tie in is probably the greatest feature, *if* you already own a PS3. I like question lenses like this - I've done one of them myself.

I do think Vita can compete with touch screen like the iPad because of the many features it have a plus what put Vita over the edge is the dual analog sticks. I remember reading about they making a call of duty for the Vita and it will probably have online play with it. I think the Vita will have more games for the hardcore gamers then you have the tablets and smart phones and plus playing the game on the ps3 then on the go with on the Vita.

The Vita sounds good so far, but I probably won't buy it as I'm not into portable systems. I like the analog stick set-up though.
