It's Recess... time for us grownups to play!

Somewhere along the line we were told that the minute that we became an adult, life was supposed to be about work... NOT PLAY. Whoever said it was WRONG! We are going to play a little bit every day.

I originally picked up this product so that I could whittle down my waist and strengthen my adominal muscles. My husband took one look at it and started playing soccer (in my office) with it. I'm just waiting for him to hit something, but I don't have the heart to make him stop. He's having too much fun. He doesn't have a goal to shoot the ball into, but has come up with new rules. Now he has to kick it onto the sofa and make it stay there. (It would much sooner roll off) But, he's getting exercise, so I'm going to let him play as much as he wants too. lol...

When Was the Last Time?

It must be a day off school where I live because kids are everywhere and I just noticed that the kids are actually playing OUTSIDE! Right behind our subdivision is a huge field and there are a few kids playing with kites which made me wonder... when was the last time I tried my hand at kite flying?

I can't believe this but it has to be about 20 years?? The kids were little and my son had this pirate kite that he just couldn't wait to try out.

So, today's little project is to go out and at least think about flying a kite and how much fun it could be. Seeing that I don't have one handy, the best I can do is sip a cold drink in the backyard and watch the kids who seem to be having a blast.

*But it's going on our shopping list and I just might look for a pirate kite and invite my son over for the weekend to try his hand at it again!

It was my daughter who first talked me into playing and I did it strictly for the health benefits... and then I found out that it was FUN! Didn't see that coming! Might as well start out here and look for some bargains. My daughter won't even let me touch HER racket. She gave me the cheap one lol...

I'm So Loving This Idea

I was just visiting fellow Squidooer Rebecca (a photographer from Chattanooga TN) and I just have to share some of her gorgeous shots of waterfalls. Her photographs are gorgeous. Anyway, I left a comment saying that I was going to check to see if there were any waterfalls in our area and I suddenly remembered that there is a waterfall in the park where my daughter works as a landscape designer. It's not going to compare with some of the shots of natural waterfalls, but it would definitely be a nice place to spend an afternoon with a book and a cold drink. And, the park apparently has the biggest swans you have ever seen, so I'm definitely going to be paying the park a visit. And if it hadn't been for Rebecca (bbug), I wouldn't have thought of it.

There's places to play all around us, we simply have to scout them out!
