MIXED METALS
Grand Glimmers Sterling Silver, Copper & Brass Collection
I've added some new and interesting designs to my collection for the summer. Every piece in the collection is hand fabricated. I love the look of different metals playing off one another. I also think copper compliments many skin tones and looks especially nice with a tan. Custom designs can be made to your specifications. Check back soon to see the rings I've designed. EVER PLAY WITH PLAY-DOH AS A KID?
Working with PMC (Precious Metal Clay) is like letting your inner child loose again. PMC is a versatile material that can be shaped by hand, folded and molded into whatever your imagination dreams up. When fired in a Kiln, the binders burn off and .999 Fine Silver is formed. PMC is available in clay, paste, syringe, paper, overlay types. As far as I am concerned the only limitation working with PMC is your imagination and for me the size of my kiln. I use a bee-hive countertop kiln that I purchased for less than $125.00. So far it's been great for firing small single pieces but I'm itching to get into some larger projects like creating a necklace that mimics vines growing on a trellis.I am Level 1 Certified in working with PMC and received my certification from Sherry Fotopoulos, a fabulous instructor and great lady from San Antonio. Visit her at www.pmc123.com. I highly recommend taking a class if she visits your neck of the woods. I also recommend picking up Art Jewelry Magazine whether you're a beginner or expert working with PMC there are always great articles and projects in every issue.
I created this lens because I'm interested in meeting other jewelry enthuisasts who've stumbled into PMC. This is my first Lens therefore it is a work in progress. Contact me at grandglimmers@houston.rr.com or check out my website at www.grandglimmers.com.
PERSONALIZE YOUR PMC JEWELRY
Make your gift more personal by adding a special phrase, date, initials or name to your jewelry
All the designs featured here are created from PMC (Precious Metal Clay) which consists of silver, H2O and a natural binder. When fired in a kiln the binder and water burns off and you are left with .999 fine silver. The designs that feature leaves are created by using a REAL leaf from my garden.
Look TIMELESS not TRENDY...Grand Glimmers Artisan Jewelry
I use the finest sterling silver, fine silver and gold filled findings in all my creations. The stones that are incorporated into some designs are all natural semi-precious gemstones, no synthetics are used. I also use 49 strand beading wire for all bracelets and necklaces, that is the highest quality beading wire on the market and it's very strong and resists moisture so you're jewelry won't need to be re-strung over time & wear.
All Grand Glimmers Designs come gift boxed for wrapping so you can take a peek if it's a gift. I also guarantee all my work and will repair a piece if the need arises* (*some restrictions apply - obviously if you run over the piece with your truck I'm not going to fix it). You can reach me at 713-664-1103.
