Are You And Your Baby In Complete Harmony With The Breastfeeding?

Having a good starting point with successful breastfeeding and for it to only be for a relatively reasonable period of time is the strong wish of any mother. Breastfeeding is the most marvellous, valid and healthy way to feed their baby.

I know that there exists a multitude of different books, pamphlets and specialists which will all try to educate and inform mothers about how breastfeeding is most beneficial and highly recommended for their babies.

But sometimes we are losing the essence of breastfeeding- in the middle of so much information - or mothers just lose their patience trying.

From My Own Breastfeeding Experiences

A Better Way For Mother And Baby

I am saying this because a relatively short time ago I became a mother - at the age of 37 - and I knew nothing about how to breastfeed my baby. For a reason that does not need explanation, my baby had to spend a very short time at the hospital in an incubator and I had to go there to breastfeed him.

The personnel that were there - extremely kind and friendly - tried to assist me, I felt so helpless. And suddenly a nurse said "tummy to tummy", an expression that I did not understand immediately, but I tried by putting my baby with his little tummy close with mine, I removed the blanket that was between us, I allowed his little right hand to enter gentle between my left arm and my thorax and in this way took place the 'miracle'.

The breast fitted perfectly into my baby's mouth and from that moment on everything went exceptionally well.

What I Have Observed Since Then

And Why I Decided To Write About It

I decided to write about this subject because I have had the opportunity to see a lot of mothers (maybe even mothers for the second or third time), which were breastfeeding their babies - from my point of view - not correctly.

What I mean is that their babies were with their little tummies orientated upwards, with one of their hands between them and their mother's tummy, which meant that the baby's head was turned at a right angle to their body.

Another matter that I consider very important is with regard to colic in babies. My baby son has never had colic and personally I am convinced that this is because he was correctly positioned for breastfeeding. And that meant that there was no air entering his stomach with the breast milk.

I will say as well that the absence of colic also has to do with the other care that I took during breastfeeding. I eat a lot and well but only products that were recommended for my blood group.

If these two aspects had to do or not with the fantastic breastfeeding that both my son and I experienced, I don't know but I think it is worthy for any mother to try.

I would also like to express that because of the correct positioning of my baby during breastfeeding, I never knew what discomfort of my breasts or sore cracked nipples meant.

And now finally from my own experience following a blood type diet allowed me amazingly quick to return to my original weight and figure that I had before pregnancy in just eight weeks. And at my age I found this to be most exceptional. Most doctors reference at least eight to ten months for this to happen.

I breastfed all 3 of my little ones. Positioning is important. I had a fabulous lactation consultant in the hospital that got me started. However, I feel that some babies just have colic. All 3 of mine were colicy and my 3rd baby even had severe reflux for 18 months. Digestive issues just happen with some babies, despite breastfeeding properly.

Awsome post! Love it. A women should definitly breastfeed, BUT only as long she wishes to. I breastfed with first for only 1 month and I regret for it to be so short, but there were some complications, with my second, I even went back to work and still breastfed. My friend was fanatic, and she breast feed for two years, of course she worked and used medela breast pump to keep it going, but the fact is, her daughter is constantly ill and has so many alergies. Breastfeeding is healthy, of course, and who ever can do it should do it, I however feel that women who work should only do it until children turn 1 and after that stop. I strongy believe her daughter is so sick, because the quality of milk decreased to a highly stressful job.

I like your personal story. I've never heard tummy to tummy, but I think it is a simple term that could cover more than books and books of information. Breastfeeding for me was hard to learn (many years ago now), although we were always tummy to tummy. I think it is a wonderful and emotional time for moms.
