PLR Article Packs

PLR stands for Private Label Rights. PLR articles are intended for people to use as content on their websites. If you want to create a website, but yo're not a very good writer, you can purchase PLR Article Packs from a site like PLR Explosion and modify those articles and use them on your own website.

PLR article packs can be used for a lot of different things. We'll go into some of the ways you can use your articles later.

One important thing to remember is that you should never use the articles you buy as-is. PLR articles are intended to be the basis of your own content. They are not intended to be used directly as they are!

For one thing, using the articles as they are won't be of a lot of use to you, because other people have probably done the same thing. It doesn't benefit search engines to list the same content over and over, because their visitors probably wouldn't be happy seeing the same article several times on the first two pages! Using articles as they are may or may not get you penalized for duplicate content, but they certainly won't give you a very good chance of being ranked on the first page!

Using the content as it is to submit to article directories or on sites like this one (Squidoo) or HubPages can also get you in trouble. Many sites want unique content, so you should rewrite PLR articles to make these sites happy!

The Duplicate Content Penalty

Is the duplicate content penalty a myth?

As far as I've seen, there's no actual PENALTY to your site for using duplicate content, per se. Actually, in a way it's like a penalty. You see, Google doesn't often list the exact same article more than once in the top 20 or so results. Occasionally I have seen the same article appear two or even three times on the first and/or second pages of results, but not often.

As far as I can tell, sites aren't penalized for using duplicate content, but the articles themselves probably won't receive decent rankings unless they're altered significantly.

So in a way, the duplicate content penalty is a myth. Your site isn't likely to be banned for using duplicate content, nor are your current rankings likely to plummet simply for adding a few unchanged PLR articles to your site. But the articles aren't likely to do you any good for SEO purposes unless you change them significantly.

Six Easy Ways to Use PLR Articles

How to Use PLR Content

  1. Create sites for making money with AdSense or affiliate products.
  2. Create niche blogs to advertise affiliate products or AdSense.
  3. Create Squidoo lenses or HubPages hubs with rewritten PLR.
  4. Submit rewritten PLR articles to article directories.
  5. If allowed, compile them into a free report you can use for building a list.
  6. If allowed, put them into an autoresponder sequence and send to your mailing list.
