Ok so now we know what it is, what's so good about PLR?

The best thing about PLR content is it saves you time.

It takes time to research. It takes time to write. For some people writing is like pulling teeth, they don't feel they can do it and the process is painful.

So why not take advantage of the marvellous technology that we have access to today that puts people who can write and actually enjoy the process together with people who would much rather be promoting and marketing their products than creating them.

The cost is minimal compared to the value of your time. Especially so, if it's time spent struggling and staring at a blank screen or page waiting for inspiration to strike.

You can pick up PLR article packs for less than 10 dollars. At this price these articles won't be exclusively yours, but you won't have a blank screen to contend with as there will actually be content on your screen that you can start to modify, creating something that is uniquely yours.

You can of course hire "Ghostwriters" to write content exclusively for you but this will cost considerably more and isn't really necessary in the case of needing a few articles to put on your website or blog or fill your newsletter.

If however you want a complete information product or book written exclusively for you then hiring a ghostwriter may be the most cost effective option when you consider the time you would spend trying to write the book and the sales you don't make while your book isn't on the market.

But If You Really Don't Feel Like Paying Anything For Your PLR...Try This

1)When purchasing PLR, make sure you get the whole package.

Unless you are a gun copywriter you will get a lot of value in having a sales page that comes with your PLR product.

That's not to say that you will use the sales page as is because you will definitely want to make significant changes to the sales page in order to make it uniquely yours.

However, if writing compelling sales copy is not your forte having a sales page to work with will make the job a lot easier.

Also be on the lookout for PLR packs that have graphics, supporting articles, auto-responder messages and e-courses. All of these bonuses will come in very handy when you look for ways to maximise the profits you can make from your PLR products.

2) Edit and/or re-write your PLR content.

This is an absolute must and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Your content must appear unique in the marketplace if you want to make you some serious money with it.

In the case of PLR articles you will need to re-write them to at least 50% unique content. Of course you can do less re-writing but to be reasonably certain of not having "your" article popping up on blogs or websites all over the internet 50% unique content should be considered the base minimum.

3) Create new graphics.

Another must do if you want to realise all the profit potential of your PLR material. While visitors to your site may not notice the actual content of your sales page and how it's like 50 other sites online, they definitely will notice the same header graphics and colour scheme.

Your choices are to create new graphics yourself, which is not really a choice at all if you are not skilled in creating at the very least semi professional level graphics.

A far better choice is to pay someone who actually knows what they are doing to create some hot and sexy graphics for your site.

Great graphics combined with unique original content will certainly help you stand out in the marketplace.

4)Create a unique Sales page.

Take the sales page you have been supplied as part of your PLR pack and begin to make whatever changes you feel are appropriate. When you are re-writing your sales page always keep in mind that the goal of a sales page is to make sales.

If you're pretty clueless when it comes to writing sales pages visit some of your competition. How do their sales pages sell their products? What you're looking for is your response when you read their sales page. Is it compelling? Does it make you want to buy their product or are you turned off by their sales page?

Take some notes from these sites so that you can modify them and incorporate them into your own sales page at some point.

5) Begin looking for more ways to profit from your PLR material.

There are literally dozens of ways that you can use your PLR content to cash in.

PLR books and reports can be turned into audios that can then be used as up-sells or attractive bonuses to purchasers. Videos can be created to support the content of your book or report. Articles can be turned into e-courses. Membership sites can be created with PLR articles and reports. Blogs promoting affiliate products can be built and supported over time with relevant PLR articles.

The possibilities are endless so always be on the lookout for opportunities to fully exploit your PLR material for all it's worth.

Sure there's some work involved in what we have discussed here. But when you consider what the potential bottom line results can be when you have a polished well put together, and most importantly, unique product that makes you stand out from the crowd, I'm sure you will consider it worth your while.

The word FREE gets a bum rap when talking about making money online. While the fact remains that the word FREE is one of the most potent trigger words that guarantees to get a response from even the most unresponsive, it is also looked down on with an attitude of "Well if it's FREE it can't be of any value"

When is comes to PLR content nothing could be further from the truth.

While there are numerous paid memberships that offer great PLR content and all the bells and whistles that go with it (graphics, ebook covers, keyword lists etc) at the end of the day you are still left with the need to re-write your content.

And while limiting the number of members does add a degree of exclusivity you are still going to have to modify your PLR content to make it your own.

In the case of FREE PLR content this same basic rule applies only this time you haven't had to pay for the privilege of re-writing and editing the material.

And you will be pleased to hear that there is some excellent, well written FREE PLR around if you know where to look.

And while there is also a lot of crap FREE PLR content about, paying for your PLR (and sometimes paying quite a bit) doesn't always guarantee that you wont get a substandard product that's going to need a significant amount of re-writing anyway.

Here is another point you may want to consider. As I have already mentioned many people have the opinion that if something is FREE it can't be of any value so they wont want anything to do with it.

So although there may be potentially thousands of people who have the same FREE PLR content as you, the chances are very high that a very small percentage of people will actually use the PLR content because of this tendency to de-value anything that is FREE.

On the other hand if someone pays 50 or 100 dollars a month to join a PLR membership site, while laziness and procrastination know no economic boundaries, there is still a greater chance that more people will actually use the content they have paid for leading to potentially more competition and the need to modify your content greatly to create something unique.

Here is an experiment for you that while not proving conclusively that FREE PLR is better buy than paid PLR, it does give some food for thought.

I just picked two PLR articles at random from my PLR article collection. I downloaded these articles yesterday from this FREE PLR site .

I took a random paragraph from each article and put it into Google. The result?

In both cases only one other page came back in the search results as displaying that exact paragraph. In both cases the whole article was on the respective sites.

One of the articles (dog training) was published almost 12 months ago so the article had to be at least that old. In a niche that is very hot and competitive. The other article published only a month ago was part of an Internet Marketing PLR package. Another ultra competitive niche.

And yet in both cases only one result on Google for each article/paragraph.

I then took 2 articles from one of my paid PLR memberships and did the same thing with a random paragraph from both.

Article 1 brought back 2 results and the article 2 returned 3 other web pages with the paragraph listed.

This experiment confirmed two things for me. Firstly many more people have PLR material that they don't use than those who have it and do use it.

And secondly, that FREE PLR articles lose nothing when compared to the considerably more expensive paid PLR articles and in fact will probably need considerably less re-writing to make them unique when there is only one other site/page to compete with

Assuming it takes the same amount of time to re-write a FREE PLR article as it does to re-write a PLR article that you have paid for why in the world would you pay for it.

And if you're someone who doesn't actually use your PLR material doesn't it make more sense to not use FREE PLR material than to not use PLR material you have paid for.
