Plymouth Hoe And View Onto Plymouth Sound
Plymouth Hoe and view onto Plymouth Sound. Plymouth is a city which too often gets overlooked by visitors to the UK, but it has much to offer and is a location which tourists should certainly consider. As a perfect base for the Eden Project in Cornwall, with ferry links to France and Spain, and with one of the best city centre shopping areas in the UK, Plymouth should be considered.
Plymouth Hoe is my favourite place. On a summers day the view look wonderful over Plymouth Sound and looking towards Drake's island.

Visiting Plymouth On Holiday
Reasons to visit Plymouth
It is without doubt that London attracts the highest percentage of visitors of any city in the UK and areas such as Devon are sometimes overlooked, The attraction of seeing Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London and the London Eye for example, are too attractive. Devon and Cornwall though means a wonderful alternative or add on to London, with the oen countryside and benefits that being on a coastline offer.
Plymouth has a rich history with Sir Francis Drake having left from Plymouth and the Barbican area of the city is a delightful area to explore. Art galleries, the Plymouth Gin Distillery tour, old cobblestone streets and real Devonshire ice cream and some of the pubs in which the famous painter Beryl Cook frequented - and you will have plenty to see already.
Plymouth Hoe and its views out onto the waters of Plymouth Sound, or a long afternoon walk around Mount Edgecumbe across on the Cornish coastline (a short ferry trip across the River Tamar) and the opportunities for visitors to this region are endless.
In recent years, Plymouth has also become something of a shopping hub with the new Drake Circus shopping centre and with a busy pedestrianised city centre. Outdoor cafes and a regular local farmers marker help to add to the atmosphere in the city.
Why not come down to Plymouth on your visit to the UK?
