PMDD Treatment Options
There are a few options to help treat the symptoms of PMDD and find a cure for PMDD altogether to combat its underlying causes such as:
Drugs
Drugs are a contentious issue for a number of reasons. While they do help to alleviate the symptoms of PMDD, they are not a cure for PMDD and will only mask those symptoms while you take these pills. They also come with some nasty side effects for some of them, and if you are mixing multiple drugs you can get even worse results. This dependency on medication is quite a short term path - but they do help to lower the symptoms during this period.
Diet
You are what you eat alright. The nutrients in the foods we eat go a long way to making our bodies work better from the inside out, and some of the things we eat do the opposite giving us very bad things for our body to deal with which can lead to hormonal imbalances.
Psychology
The mood disorders can sometimes be helped by some psychoanalysis and general introspection to your motives and moods in general. This will not stop your moods from changing, this will not stop the mood regulators in your brain misfiring because of hormonal disruption. IT will however let you react to these disruptions in a much more controlled manner.
Herbal Remedies
The alternative to drugs basically, vitamins and herbs that work WITH your body and not against it in some sort of brute force rampage through your system to fix one thing. Good natural remedies can help to alleviate symptoms, but will not get rid of the condition altogether - but will help.
Holistic Treatments
This is not such must an aspect on its own, it is a combination of the elements listed above - excluding drugs! - to have a multi faceted approach to your overall health to normalise your body from the inside out. Exercise diet, herbs, vitamins, how you think, how you interact with others., and more. This is what is really required to completely eradicate PMDD.
