Welcome to the Project Management Professional Certification Lens
This site is all about the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification offered by the Project Management Institute.
After completing the necessary course work and on the job training, I received my PMP in 2003. Since then I successfully renewed my PMP starting in January 2007 for another three years. I am a member of the Atlanta Chapter of PMI and also the Information Systems Specific Interest Group.

Keeping Your PMP Credentials
Over a three year period, you have to accrue 60 hours of continuous education. And this has to mainly be through Registered Education Providers (REPs).
Sure you can get some credit for writing on PM subjects, volunteering as a PM on a non-profit project, or watching webinars from REPs.
But the quickest way is to attend a major conference where you can get the bulk of your hours at once. I made it through my first renewal, but have not obtained many credits in the last year. So I guess I need to get busy with that.
