Buyer's Guide For Buying A Pocket Bike

Before you buy a new or used pocket bike, you should first determine what kind of pocket bike is right for you or your child. Prices range from as little as $150 for a cheap pocketbike up into the thousands of dollars for a high end super pocket rocket. In addition to price, you also should consider quality and the type of pocket bike to purchase.

Purchase A Quality Pocket Bike

Finding The Right Pocket Bike

Buying an inexpensive, or cheap pocket bike would be a good idea if you're trying to save money. These won't usually be of very high quality, but since these are relatively simple machines it's not a big issue. Be prepared to replance broken or defective parts, but again they're inexpensive and easy to fix.

Do you want a gas or electric pocket bike? That's an important decision. The electric pocketbikes will be more difficult to fix in the event something goes wrong, but the gas burner will require more maintenance. I prefer gas powered, simply because they're the most common and cheap parts are easy to find.

Dirt pocket bikes are great for kids, it's easier to play in the yard away from traffic and are probably the easiest of all pocket rockets to maintain.

Super pocket bikes are definately not for kids. These things go dangerously fast, over 70mph in some cases. They're also larger, approx 1/2 scale versions of full size motorcycles. Great for a teenager or adult.
