Pocket Rockets and Bikes - Crazy Fun

Welcome my pocket rocket and pocket bike page on Squidoo! I've got a real love of these miniature sportbikes, also known as pocket rockets and pocket bikes. In fact I've got two at my office that I ride around the building most mornings (the neighboring business don't care for that too much!). At any rate, through my experience owning, selling, tuning and riding these pocketbikes I'd like to offer my expertise to other enthusiasts of these cool little machines.

We'll be using the words pocket rocket and pocket bike synonomously, as they essentially are the same thing but some people call them either one. For the sake of being comprehensive we'll use both terms throughout our lenses.

Pocket Rockets

These little mini bikes, commonly called pocket rockets, are an inexpensive and fun way to get into sportbike riding. With entry level pricing as low as $189 for a small 49cc pocket rocket, you can get going on the cheap. These usually make 3-4 horsepower and go 20-30 mph, more than fast enough for anybody on a 24" motorcycle.

Pocket Bikes

Another name for pocket rockets, pocket bikes are those miniature versions of crotch rockets. There are a few different versions of pocket bikes - the standard mini sizes that are about 1/4 scale and the larger super pocket bikes that are 1/2 scale and can reach speeds of up to 70mph. That's an absolutely scary spead for such a small machine, but it's an exhilarating ride!

Would You Buy Your Child A Pocket Bike?

Curious as to what other parents think. Would you buy a pocket bike for your 5-12 year old child? And why?

Are pocketbikes safe for children?

Yes, with proper guidance.

kriskolbykai says:

I think pocket bikes are safe for children, only if they are wearing helmets and safety gear

leathermeup says:

like on the back of my pocket bike!

datkins says:

for children i want one for myself kids will apply all the safety rules you teach them just as long as you are watching them

Go_Karts says:

Yes they are

nlwest21 says:

I would let my child ride one (when she's older) as long as she was in a safe neighborhood and I watched her the whole time. Also of course wearing the right gear. Just get the kinds that are smaller and don't go as fast.

No, too dangerous.

I have entirely too much to say, in fact most people wouldn't want to hear all of it. In fact, I don't even want to hear all of it. Wait, what?
